Long term injury and turning 30 (an age were some players tend to lose a yard of pace) have hit him hard and is probably now on borrowed time here as he's not offering a great deal when hes been given chances.

Some people have short memories though....
Over 400 appearances, 19 trophies (4th highest amount as a player in the clubs history - behind only McNeill, Lennox and Brown), 59 goals and 66 assists during the quadruple treble era.
Level of abuse and disrespect he receives is way over the top.
Age and injuries have caught up with him, simple as that. It happens, it's football. He knows it as much as we do, a position were confidence is key, and his has gone bcoz he knows he's lost that yard of pace that made him such a threat.

He's been * all season IMO and I always defend him and rate him highly but he seems to have lost a yard or so of pace which was his biggest asset.

Needs game time to recover fitness, sharpness and confidence but he's hardly going to get it with Abada on such form. I wouldn't write him off yet, he's obviously got the talent underneath it all to make a contribution. And as someone else said, he's one of us and deserves the opportunity.

I remember. I have a lot of respect for what he has done and what he has helped the club to achieve. His name will always be remembered for his contribution. But while he's been good for the club the club has been good to him and there shouldn't be any regrets on either side when he hangs his boots up. I've seen this coming for a few seasons. Like most folk I ranted when he looked like he wasn't putting the effort in. You and others think that it's a confidence thing and that may be so and age will play a part but I still think that he should have the experience to put a tackle in and beat his man once in a while. Show the less experienced guys how it's done....it was Raith Rovers fgs. It's a long time since we have seen anything like that from him. I think that whilst he might not be any good for us just now he still might be able to do a turn somewhere. I had hoped that he would have a second wind similar to Broony and who knows he might but at present he's an empty shirt for us.

I don’t think anyone is disregarding what he’s achieved.

Regardless of how many appearances he’s made and trophies he’s won, doesn’t take away from the fact he severely hinders the team when he plays.

Trophies he’s won in the past do entitle him to a bit of respect, but certainly not a space on the team sheet. We can’t afford to be carrying passengers out of blind loyalty.

He’s the undisputed hide and seek champ.

Gets a harder time than he deserves.

Wasn't great but he will get better and be important on the run in.

Yeah I'm not saying he deserves to start and unless there an upturn in form over next few months then I think it's best for all that he goes but soe of the abuse he receives is over the top

Was a game he played before winter break were he looked scared to go by his man bcoz clearly he didn't trust his body, 5 mins later he took him on and his hammy went.
For me that's his biggest issue and always has been, was a 4 year spell under Rodgers and into lennon when we had better sport science looking after him, where he played a lot of games and had more confidence in his own body.
For me that's why he's not going into tackles, taking people own added with losing that yard of pace. Essentially he's done

I love him for everything he's done for us, but his time's up. Ange will see that. We need two new wingers in the summer, three if Jota leaves.

My problem with Forrest has always been his attitude under certain managers.

Example. Under Deila he was an absolute disgrace. Then under Rodgers he was absolutely outstanding. Then Lennon, a disgrace again. With Ange, he seems to have went backwards again.

On his day, he is as good a wide player as there is. We can't wait on him to decide when he's in the mood though.

Think he knows he's not first choice as RW now, probably for the first time in years and doesn't look to be reacting to the challenge of Abada well at all..

Wouldn't write him off altogether though. Not yet at least..

But if Doak or Dembele come in and do a job, he may find his days under Ange and ultimately Celtic are numbered..

Lack of effort or petulance won't be tolerated, that's for sure..

i dont see that much difference ,i think he only looks worse in compared to jota .with abada banging in goals and looking lively its maybe highlighting the fact that forrest has no competition for his place since paddy roberts, which is ridiculous.

    There's definitely a massive difference.

Forrest has always blown hot and cold but under Rodgers he upped it massively and continued that under Lennon up until Covid hit. No doubt he was a fantastic player for a good while.

Since then he's been * though. So since March 2020 he's been underperforming or unavailable. Granted he was injured for a large chunk of that time but even when he has played he's been very poor.

He's now the wrong side of 30, it's been two years since he's had any decent form and he's had a * load of injuries that have slowed his body down massively. Add to that a new manager who demands more from him than he's ever been used to; along with genuine competition from a 20 year old who may end up with prime Forrest numbers in his first season.

I genuinely think its wishful thinking to think he'll "come good" when you factor in the above.

aye he will probably never hit the hights of his time under rodgers again and i agree with you about the hot and cold spells just think the cold spell he is in right now looks a lot worse because there is an alternative .

Miles aff it. Were we deliberately not directing play down his side bcos the players didn't believe in him or did everything down that side just come to nothing. Barely remember him touching the ball. Mad how he's dropped so far out the team. Was a first choice not so long ago.
