Totally agree mate, he has definitely risen to the challenge with Roberts being back. If Forrest keeps playing at this level I think Roberts could struggle to get his spot back once he’s fit again.

Great to see him press on a level after stagnating the past couple of seasons.

 

Definitely wasn’t stagnating last season, kept Roberts out the team alot for a reason

 

Fair point... what I meant to imply is that he’s probably not pressed on as much as he could have over the past 3/4 years.

He now looks as though he is going to fulfill the early potential he showed under Lennon and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is coming at a time where he is starting games regularly. For far too long it’s been fashionable for sections of the support to blame Forrest for any issue we are having on the pitch and the fact that he is now playing the best football of his career has shut a significant number up.

The way he has got his head down and worked his backside off to get back in the team and make himself indispensable is commendable. The likes of Henderson and Sviatchenko could do worse than try to replicate his work ethic to earn a shot at saving their Celtic career.

 

For me was the one bright spark of the first half at least , did get a bit of joy at times down the wing and set up Leigh , which he should of converted in all honesty.

 

Our most reliable player this season. A player I wished would just run down his contract and leave has stayed loyal and become our best player so far this season. For someone like James Forrest to turn so many peoples opinion of his worth is an incredible achievement. Hopefully he keeps it up and wins POTY

I'd be tempted to start him left wing against Tavernier Saturday as his running either way at pace with trickery will unbelievably murder that diddy..
