    CELTIC sports science chief Jack Nayler has moved to RB Leipzig.

    SunSport understands the Englishman left Parkhead weeks before Ange Postecoglou’s arrival as boss after being headhunted.


    Nayler was brought in as Celtic's head of sport science by former manager Brendan Rodgers in November 2016.

    He had previously held positions at Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid - as part of Carlo Ancelotti's backroom staff.


    Nayler stayed on when Rodgers left for Leicester City in 2019, working under Neil Lennon and then interim boss John Kennedy.

    But he has now taken up a post at big-spending German outfit Leipzig - leaving a backroom role for Postecoglou to fill.


    One-time Celtic target Jesse Marsch has taken over as coach of the Bundesliga giants and Nayler will be a key member of his staff.



    A Leipzig statement said: “Dr. Helge Riepenhof's performance unit will be expanded next season to include the Sports Science department, which will be led by Jack Nayler.”

    Obviously not every member of staff we have is.....insert insult of choice.....I know we were supposed to set fire to everything and start again but I'm pretty sure there'll be many backroom elements to our set-up that are of a high standard. Right now everything and everyone is * tho.

    Correct me if I'm wrong btw but does the Head of sports science not play a part in running Tierney and Rogic into the ground and taking pain killing injections instead of recovery.
    The two of them haven't been.the same since.

    He was complaining about the players standards dropping drastically because Lennon was giving them all sorts of days off and not following their diets etc.

    Basically standards dropped and they seen it coming and tried to warn the club.

    That’s the physios and doctors, sports science is more about nutrition and diet. Said it before and I’ll say it again, Lennon wasn’t just tactically inept he was also reeking at man management and utilising the team he had in place. Neil Lennon Un dictator, where his word is gospel and only his way works. 6 months without a job states many things.
