I think Eddy leaving will be largely dependent on CL qualification. The 10 is great as supporters, but for a young French guy I doubt it holds as much significance as getting exposure on the biggest stage.

I’m not certain he’ll stay if we qualify, but I’m certain he would look to move if we don’t.

We need to two solid strikers for this season that we can rely on hence why I think we are looking to get another in to supplement Edouard rather than replace him.

Griffiths is a brilliant striker but he's a liability and injury prone. Klimala looks good and Bayo could still come good but we can't afford to gamble on them stepping up when it really matters.

Lennon's interview on Sky suggests to me that we will go back in with a higher bid.

    I agree.

However whether this guy is the right option to spend upwards of £6m on...not convinced.

Hooper was playing in the Championship. 1 goal off top scorer, playing for a pish team.

I'm not sold on this either. Prefer Ajeti.

Thing is though £8m is a lot for us..and I think its going to be around that figure which gets this guy.

£8m for a league one striker for us is unheard of. And as has been said Hooper scored 20 goals in the Championship which is a big step up even from League one. He also only cost £2.5m.

Agree with the last bit again, plenty of bargains on the continent. I think we could get someone a bit more proven for the same wage/money it would cost for Toney.

A never trust a league 1 strike rate. Some absolutely howling players get away with it down there. No gonny pretend I watch Peterborough and tell you I know this lads game/potential at all but...

IMO leave the English market alone apart from youth/Bosmans. Market is too inflated.

Well, not really. The leap from League 1 to the Championship is pretty big, maybe not as big as from the Championship to the EPL, but probably not far off.

James Collins was the League 1 top scorer two seasons ago with 25 goals. He was on loan at Hibs a few years back and scored 6. It's a big gamble.

Personally I think anything more than £6/7m would be too much.

However I’m also tired of going into euro qualifiers under prepared after stumping up the cash for a season ticket year after year and I’m sure there’s tens of thousands who’d agree. We as supporters have backed the club by selling out STs and as a result of this, and the big transfer fees we’ve received in recent years, the club have enough cash to go the extra mile if required.

Agree with this. Every transfer is a gamble, and we’ve made an * of a fair few from every continent but even during the pandemic the English market is still inflated.

I know £6M is a lot but we spent as much on Bayo & Shved. If Lenny thinks he’s the man to be Eddy’s replacement next season then I’m for it.
