Didn't know Gerry Britton was a lawyer these days.

Anyone who says the term is a religious one is clueless. Groups like Nil by Mouth have a * of a lot to answer for.

P.s. It's thought that this is one of the most expensive cases for a breach of the peace in Scotland ever. Complete waste of time and money. Celtic PLC are certainly not blameless in this either, one official who gave evidence in court said that the banner reminded him of the Bradford fire ffs!

Member of Celtic's security team, a Mr Brannan.

Another thing to be noted is that this case came about entirely due to emails of complaint from the bigots that frequent follow follow. Hunbelievable.

The whole idea that the word hun is in any way sectarian is a joke and should never have been up for debate. Offensive? Maybe for those that it's aimed at, but no more so than calling someone Manc scum for example. It has no religious or political meaning in the context it's used.

These things need to be more widely publicised. It's not news to anyone on here but elements of the general public still think it has some kind of ethnic or religious discrimination behind it. It can be disproved by the many Protestant Celtic fans who use the word, coupled with the fact that Nacho Novo is a hun. But still the tag sticks for some people and we need to make sure it's clear in the future so that people aren't getting stopped by the ignorant police from singing harmless songs or having harmless slogans on t-shirts/flags.

Did we really need a court case to reach this conclusion? 'Hun' has never been a religiously sectarian term. Anyone with an ounce of common sense could have figured that out.

Suprised it even took 20 mins; Why on the * planet is this pish being dragged through courts. This is the second case I know of which has been dismissed by the courts; the last one involved 4 police officers claiming they heard a fan chant IRA during a game before Christmas. Only for their body cameras to prove them wrong.
