Hero/favourite? Aye. Legend/icon? Naw; relatively few are.

Didn’t think it was even debatable to be honest.

I would say he is, too many people get caught up in the words of it all.

A legend is just really someone who will be remember and talked about for a long time. Will people in 50 years be telling their grandkids about him? they will so he is. Part of the quadruple treble, played hundreds of games, won allsorts of trophies, scored big goals, great goals etc

He's not one of the best ever players but he will be spoken fondly about until we are all dead and probably even after where as hundreds of other Celtic players won't be.

You have to look at it like this.

Billy McNeil is a Celtic Legend. In all honesty can you really say they are in the same category? Not for me.

I think a Celtic legend is for someone you wouldn’t be surprised if he got a statue outside the ground. Rogic has been an absolute joy but he’s not that level.

    There's a definition problem here.

The question could be re-phrased, is he in McNeill, Jinky, Larsson, McStay category? That's what many of us mean when we say legend.

If you want to call Rogic a Celtic Legend but you don't put him anywhere near that category, then what do you call those other players? Super-Legends?

This is a good example. That's obviously a very different definition. If Jozo Simunovic had scored that goal does he make the list of Celtic Legends along with McNeill, Larsson etc.?

Few years back when he was expected to leave. Wenger wanted him and he looked likely to go, but changed his mind at the last minute - signed another long deal with Celtic.

Here's an old media piece I dug up but it was news in Oz. I know his old club captain and Director of Football at the Mariners and they both said it happening...

    No chance Wenger wanted him..

Aye that's what I'm struggling with..

When you put him up against our greats. I like that super greats though. Untouchables like the king, Cesar, Jinky, Lennox etc..

He'll definitely be remember fondly. Gave us some massive moment's and contributed a lot to our recent history..

I'd say he will go down as a legend but only if we have a couple of tiers there as mentioned..

    Yep, he did.

I know Tam's old Director of Football quite well, brought him to the Mariners, and was involved in his sale to Celtic. He's a seriously connected fellow and said the interest was genuine and was quite surprised when it fell through. It was all over the news back here at the time also.

    I'd call him a legend.
One step below an immortal, reserved for the likes of Billy McNeil, Larsson and the likes.

    Depends what your definition is!

Very good player but no not a legend for me. Rogic had some magical moments for us there is no doubting that whatsoever. but where do you draw the line, Despite being a grade a * Commons had some magical moments for us. Goal against karaghandy that helped secure group stage footballs, scored a penalty to take us to knock out phases of CL, finished our top goals scorer one one occasion (if memory serves me right). I am not for one second recognising Commons as a legend, far from it. What I am trying to do is compare a player in similar position of a similar era. Think rogic gave us three seasons more. I certainly don't have Commons down as I say but I would say on individual level you could argue Commons gave us bigger moments, rogics treble winning goal aside of course

There's the one above and a quick google showed a few more.

It was all speculation in the press but my friends of Tam reckoned it was really happening. I thought it was generally known (at least that there was media speculation).

For me he’s a legend. Maybe on the spectrum of legends he’s closer to the bottom but still a legend.

On par or close to the likes of Naka or Scott Brown but not with Jinky etc
