What were your thoughts on him as a brief Celtic player? I was really excited when we were linked with him when he was at Crystal Palace before he went to Arsenal , and even though he was in the twilight of his career when he came to us I thought he might have done us a turn.
Interesting what he says about Viduka in this vid but didn't surprise me as he was a train wreck even when we signed him.

I always forget he was a Celtic player! Up there with Dion Dublin.

Was only young at the time so don't remember much of him. Looking at it though, he was well past it by the time he came here and he was also of course a good 'pal' of Barnes'.

Not sure what to make of him as a person. Often find him annoying as a pundit and he hasn't always spoken warmly about Glasgow.

I'd love to know what sort of wage he was on.

Was one of the best one on one strikers ever , always thought he was lethal , but never had the impact i thought he would up here .

He annoys me as a pundit when its an England game but apart from that he doesn't really bother me.I think we put a 900k bid in for him in the 90s before he went to arsenal for 2 Million, what a bargain that would have been.

Spell here was pointless really. Brought in to cover Larsson. By the end of 99-2000 it was Burchill and Johnson up front

Yeh i know that , but things like that move kinda belittle our league ,it's like they can score goals for fun in that league even though they are 102 now they should still get us goals .a bad move for a player who thought he was to good for us with his attitude .

That whole season changed when Larsson's leg was broken in France. We had a right bunch of players playing super football. That's the team Martin O'Neill picked up.

We never got 10 million for Viduka. Hamming it up there. Anyway Viduka was a shitebag during his time here. And a work shy *.

He seems a nice enough guy and I'm sure when he came to us he probably thought he could still do a turn, but he was absolutely *.

Great player in his day though

Doesny half talk some * on absolute radio - soon gets turned off.

I remember reading a story on here about him bumping into a party of young kids doing a tour of CP & he was over doing the huddle with them. He went up in my estimation for that. Aye, some player in his day.

Can imagine him being the type to turn up here thinking he was going to breeze through games and imagining he would be a level above. As someone said above, hopefully that type of transfer is a thing of the past.

If an older player comes here thinking that it'll be a breeze, they'll invariably struggle (Ljunberg, Wright, Barton), but if they have the right attitude, then they can be a success (Robbie Keane, for example).

Good interview. Doesn’t get talking far enough into his career to talk about us, but there might be a part two.
