I reckon we will be looking at spending around 30mil, I also think we need about 10 signings as well as some of the youth/loans out being involved

1x GK (I'd be happy with turnaround on all 3)
2x Rb (we have none, possibly O'connor still need 2)
3x Cb (or 4 but that's pushing it) Welsh already, Julian already but injured for a bit probably Ajer is away, Hjelde I wouldn't mind staying but think loan for more game time will be better for him than being 4/5th pick
1x Lb Taylor staying need someone to be first pick
3x centre mid first team challengers/picks to replace outgoing Christie, brown, ntcham(if new manager wants him thats cool, if he wants to stay but I double he wants to) incoming have Connel, Henderson, Robertson to make up the squad, Turnbull first pick, Soro first, mcgregor first, Rogic (can go, but we would want a prospect replacement)
1x RM/RW someone to challenge forrest
1x LM/LW someone to be first pick with mikey underneath
1x versatile winger that can fit across the attack as a general in the team guy
2x striker at least 1 first pick start replace Eddie, ajeti I'd keep, griff unsure, I'd be inclined to keep, bayo can go or can keep I wouldn't mind, he would have helped this season,Afolabi can * off he doesn't look the part, should have recalled after dubai since we needed a striker, that young lad that's been on the bench, get him loaned out

    Others uncounted
Shaw - he's probably getting loaned out
    Biton, can go
    Okoflex, probably away
    Karamoko, * be away
Ralston can * off thus not counted earlier
    Barkas, probably away
    Bain, can go
Hazars/doohan keep one loan or sell the other
    Boli, sell
Shved, nae idea probably sold as he Doenst seem to want to be here
Henrdry, I'd give him a chance but I'd rather take a good transfer straight to one of those 10mil rumours for like 5
Other youth, * knows unlikely any would get any real involvement

When you average to 3 mil a signing it sounds less painful, if a few are frees that is a decent amount to spend on each first pick. And 3 million should be good quality players, admittedly our recent signing history has that on a seriously variable quality

    Also, apologies for long post

    For a season;
    99/00 and 00/01 was 19 and 28million

Since then, aside from the * poor windows where we spend buttons or nothing, it is anywhere between 10-18million we have spent, with the 18million being the season before this where we brought in Julien, Klimala, Soro, Boli, Elhamed for the main bulk of the money. Interesting only 1 is a regular starter and going to be here next season due to injury. Soro being the likely only other one to remain since then as well.

It defo needs to be an investment in to the squad on a par with the MON years, albeit more sensible when it comes to wages.

I think our record spend is 18.something million 2 years ago, with a net profit in the end. Corrected, it was 28 mil in 2000 season according to Transfermarkt, but that has Sutton listed as 8.5,I'm pretty sure he was 6 mil ish though, would still. Be taht season though

That was 8 signings for cash plus 4 loans

I can see us spending over 20, 30 would be the absolute max,

I'll add, I'd like to see us spend taht sort of money, I think about 20 is much more feasible. I am also expecting record sales as well though which is currently 28mil (dembele, Armstrong, sviachenko year) possibly made more the year after but I don't think we got much for sinclair and Morgan was under a mil as well.

lol ffs it is like the first week of championship manager on the pc - by the time structures etc are in place it will be Christmas which makes me very weary that kennedy will stick around as he knows the 'workings' of the club.

    * take drastic action is needed to resolve

all the celtic twitter page does is announce happy birthdays

A large chunk of whatever money we have should be used to bring in the smartest people available. DoF, coaches, youth coaches, scouts etc. That's what will really yield results. But that won't happen because our board are idiots.

What I expect they'll do, is bring in a glorified head of recruitment and give him the title DoF. Hire a manager like Howe, throw a bit of money at transfers and expect it to bring success. Which it might, for a couple of years, before we're right back here again.

Kind of how I see it to be honest. I’m not convinced they would have the appetite to make the changes we clearly require even if they were aware of them.

Too many vested interested and too many people in very comfortable positions who shouldn’t be.

Exactly how i expect this to play out.

Raiding Man City's development setup for Maresca, analysts, coaches, recruitment and pathways specialists was the most exciting rumour of this whole affair for me, so no surprise it was months ago and nothing has come of it, and we've still no sign of a DoF.

We have gone from sporting and business dominance to being an absolute basket case on both fronts ...

...sadly I don't think the board will have their minds set on spending right now.... more likely to be totting up what they are likely to bring in from outgoing players....

Is it likely (after the year we’ve had) that they will even spend what comes in never mind add 10s millions £££ to it to create a squad worthy of being Celtic and actually challenging for the league let alone Europe?

Those major shareholders have to get their dividends one way or another...

Na, what you need is a 3 year plan as realistically we won't have a managermheadcoach for longer than that really

First ( now) steady the ship, stop the leaks and get us back to performing, focus first team and sorting that. Get Europe secured and reliable to get some decent outcome from it.

Year 2, start really sorting out the support, the youth setup and proper pathways and development, get the setup and things refined and start to set a culture, continue to be heavy on the first team to get it sorted out since that'll take more than 1 year.

Year 3, fully establish the setup and demonstrate it in action, current(now) youth will be established and in the team, signings from previous 2 years will be t moving on point for the older steady teh ship types, any high potential will probably be looking to move on as is the norm. We should have a 5 year vision in action at this point, getting proper partnerships setup, and actual strategy across the club.

It's the dream, but it won't happen.

What clubs in all of Europe would people say have the best set up to keep a team fresh with talent and finding new gems whilst also maintaining domestic success?

I'd imagine the go to is Ajax, possibly Dortmund, tbf, probably a fair few clubs kn Germany.

Are such models a long term attainable level for Celtic to be a Scottish equivalent? I mean Ajax and Dortmund have sway to buy in great talent both young and old (the older ones usually being at a premium).

Could we not look at doing the same?

We could get buy doing a Rodgers and getting in a guy like Howe let him bring in some familiar faces he's worked eith before so we can work towards regaining the title back next season.

But also work towards bringing in new young talent, overhauling our youth system, snatching talent cross border in England.(u18's from EU due brexit are going to be hard to sign now).

    I dunno.

Be prepared to more loan signings maybe six or seven loans coming in and maybe seven permanent signings that's how big this rebuild is .

I think we need to spend big for us (30-40m) to replace at least 1/3 of the squad 10 or 11 players in and out
But I think we will get 4 permanent signings 4 loan signings and promote 2-3 youth players

    same old same old

loan signings worry me weve not been getting value for money out of them i dont think, definately not this season

they wont give their all because they dont belong to you, as backup or to go along with a very good player for competition then yes but i feel weve started to rely on them like they are ours and theyve failed maybe apart from mo

they were good when we didnt have a challenger but since the huns have started using the magic money tree again and there squads got strong our loanees dont measure up

id rather we spent on young talent and played them but had great coaches to improve them

If we could get in 4 players at a level to get straight into the 11 for CL qualifying (we won't, we never do) RB, CB, LB, LW. Assuming we then have someone competent in analysing the game and coaching a team, I reckon we could still make EL groups.

What we can do after that is then look at buying a striker to start, if we see that even a serious coaching system can't get Ajeti and Griff in shape and a young loan like the levels that Weah/Eddie were.

Then at very little costs other than wages we need to dig deep and find signings we can make by making the most of free transfers and less costly amounts for a mix of experience and promising youth at huge clubs that will never get a look in at their parent club. Frimpong, Paddy, Eddie, Weah, Ntcham (once upon he looked a serious talent).

We don't need to go full huns and blow excessively on 101 players with monopoly money.

4 smart signings straight away (3 defenders and a LW), around £10mill could easily make us a stronger defensive unit, that would be worth it's weight in gold.

Between 50m and £75m as clubs know we will be desperate not to fall further behind the huns and will hold us to ransom.

If you look to the interim accounts we had about £19m at the bank after spend on players. Even assuming that’s gone due to COVID as due to season ticket money being a big part of our income we always had more cash at bank in the interim accounts than the final. We spent just shy of £13m on transfers again according to the accounts.

We sold Kouassi, Elhamed, Harper, Frimpong (minus Man City cut) and Klimala which is around the £14m mark.

The 4 loan players will all go, Browns off too so that’s 5 fairly chunky wages.

    We will then sell

    Eddy- £20mish
    Ajer- £12m
    Christie- £3m
    Ntcham- £2m
    Boli- £1.5m
    Hendry- £1.75m
Shved - £2m (clause to buy is £3m but don’t think club can afford it)
    Bitton- £1m
    Rogic- £1m
    Bayo £1m
    Barkas- £2m Hopefully
    Ajeti- £2m Hopefully

You could be looking at £45-49mish from sales but if all them go that really is down to bare bones and also assume McGregor is content staying or you could throw in £12-15m for him.

Taking Kouassi money of the sales for the year as that was already counted in the accounts you are still looking at an income of £57.5m to £61.5m

A lot of assumptions in this and there is always the COVID situation for next year and season ticket renewal major question marks.
However, given the shear number of players we need due to neglect and poor recruitment a record investment may not be out of the question but I don’t see it being more than high £20ms to £30m.

As even knocking £10-15m of that income total will still see a record income from player sales in one season and our wage bill would be down to only three big earners in Julien, Forrest and McGregor by our standards.

It is literally championship manager stuff but that’s because it’s been Championship manager stuff how we have been run of late.
