Doesn’t bear thinking about, I think a valuable lesson to take forward for everyone including fans is you cant force players to take put when they want to * off.

only 11 weeks until European games lol
same every season bring players in the day before a big game, waiting on signings when we get into groups and guaranteed coin.

it is a * show, I am embarrassed - fans travel to the stadium all over the world.
ones come every week from Ireland every home game up at 5am home at 11pm / 1am the next day - to see this *. the board, the coaches, the players not one of them this season showed the celtic passion for the jersey we all know and love to see - the ones Larsson, Sutton, wee jinky, mc stay, mc neill, auld. the club need the fans - the fans are no mugs

no one busting their balls to win a ball back, take a game by the scruff - that is why every game we played this season was a struggle - any win we got was a huff and puff job.

The real issue here isn't actually the numbers, it's how much the board want it. How much do they want to really turn the club around and maximize our potential. To merely regain short-term domestic superiority would obviously cost less than a long term plan to see the club succeed at home and compete in Europe at the same time, and by competing in Europe I mean regular qualification for CL or EL group stages, giving a good account of ourselves once there and coming through those groups to the last 16/quarter finals fairly often. If sevco can find the sort of money to spend as they have been doing, despite the abysmal state of their balance sheets, then there is no reason we can not find the funds needed given our superior support, turnover and general healthier financial position.

It's not about how much we spend it's what we put in place to ensure work is done to properly scout new talent, which clearly isn't or at least hasn't been here for a number of years now.

With a good DoF given full reign to set a strong scouting network, its the difference of spending £20 mill amazingly on key players or utterly wasting £10 million on duds and signing 11 * players.

as much as the board * it up... imagine we went for hart on loan instead of barkas as big fraser had no intention of coming back, we brought in toney instead of ajeti and another centre half instead of duffy. we would have been in a much better position. then in jan strengthen for the final run in.

aside from that in the middle of the pitch we get schooled more times than enough brown, mc gregor and /or ntcham/chrisite/turnbull/rogic etc etc - this is the heartbeat of the team and for the last 24 months hasn't been good enough - anytime the rangers play us this season they pick us apart in the centre. needs totally changed up and freshened. strong and athletic players with a good engines.

where do you start good luck on howe if he comes in, has anyone any idea what his recruitment is like...

top 20 most expensive players he bought :-0 - roll on exciting times :-0

takes time to bring players in - we need the system in place now before the euros start - teams like Czech rep, Denmark, Norway, hungray, Sweden etc these type of players we can pick up from their respective leagues. a player on 25,000 a week now is almost bottom of the championship wages.

scouts in the past have flagged players but it rests with whoever controls the purse and bartering offer readies such as the mc ginn case etc.

if we want quality we need to start pushing the boat out - risk = reward for the most important season ahead, in my eyes this season is bigger than the 10.

How much cant be just taking at face value, Foster,VVD,Wanyama,Sinclair and Dembele is a decent 5 a side team but yet Barkas Boli and Paddy the pole cost more

3 years ago we laughed at the huns - overspending and players not worth any value.

Now both squads prob value in the 80-100m bracket and now they are favourites for the league next season with auto entry to the big table, and a great chance to qualify in these qualifers coming up too.

I done a post a year ago about asset management i will see if i can dig that up, but we are so poor at that, we threw away any advantage we had, now we need to make sure these big decisions we have coming up, dont result in us falling behind.

Need to stop measuring ourselves up against sevco. They are irrelevant if we get our own house in order both on and off the pitch. We should be striving for a lot more than their level.

Finishing above their level will be the biggest yardstick for success next season, to suggest otherwise is nieve

Yes getting the right appointments and moving the club forward next season is a must, but with the carrot of automatic champions league at stake its important to prepare to be better than them.

They will look to strenghten from a position of strength and not sit on their laurels like our board. So they will improve next season.

What id like more of next season, is ready made players come in, forget sell on value. Players like sinclair, around 28 with plenty of experience because we need a team of leaders not a team of potential.

ah actually spending it and working out what needs to be spent are two different things
We will spend the usual 20mil and make up the rest with loans

A recurring theme for Celtic is the "time to signings". We typically seem to be last minute on signings. Look at newco, rumour last week about signing a striker from Belgium - confirmed today. It's not been unusual that they have 5-6 players in before we strike our first loan deal!

Celtic playing 1 up front in any domestic fixture should result in the manager being sacked imediately

So when we played dembele up top with sinclair to the left and either forrest or roberts to the right, and rogic in behind dembele was sackable?

Its also about movement and belief and confidence and coaching.

A kinda cliche, but 'how much' isnt as important as 'how many'. A new manager with good knowledge and contacts could get some critical players in on frees, small fees or loans and not actually smash the bank. The calibre of the man and his coaching will help make/break that... Jansen, venglos, deila and Rodgers got us henrik, moravcik, ajer and dembele for less than we paid for the likes of barkas on his own...

We need to start looking into players in croatia etc the eastern europeans seem more technically gifted players. Shopping down south isnt all its cracked up to be

With a proper scouting system, we could easily spend £10 million on two first team RB/LB and a new Starting 11 worthy CB if we can't keep hold of Ajer until Jan, Taylor is a reasonable back up option for LB with some youth talent 3rd.

To bolster RB we can, if we * have to, go raid the youth set ups at teams like man city, psg etc.... For a back up option.

Then with a thorough, analytical coaching team we'd see, without a doubt a marked improvement in defence.

LW wing would be next as Mikey and injuries can't be trusted.... For now. Then RW we need someone who can either dislodge Forrest or push him on further.

Assuming we end up selling talent like Ntcham, Christie, Eddie straight off the bat, you'd hope that offsets the costs of new signings above circa £15mill to break even, we should then be pushing the boat out for free signings, loans if required for a striker as well as, another £6mill roughly for a starting 11 level striker.

4 new defenders, LW, RW and 2 strikers. Around a net spend total of £5mill.

That's not alot to be spending out of pocket covid or no covid. Should the club actually put in place a serious DoF with even a semi decent scouting network in place we should be looking a lot better.

I think in recent years our team has become weak and lack height across all levels of the team, I am not saying we need tall big players but players like lustig etc from corners helped in clearing the lines.. Frimpong, taylor, mc gregor, Kenny, laxalt defending corners and free kicks against physical teams doesn't work.

a good midfielder who is box to box with energy with strength, at least one of the centre backs quick over 25 yards, and quick on the turn, quick full backs who have a height to compete with cross balls and high balls.

we hope dembele (lyon) gets sold this summer for some extra coin.
bitton / rogic etc they need to be shipped on.
it will take at least 3 transfer windows to begin to show the rewards

just amazed it never happened last summer when it should have..the club fails to push the boat out for 10 in a row.
what is going on the club is a laughing stock

If the (expected) players leave, how much will be brought in

    Ajer - 12m
    Boli -2m
    Hendry -2m
    Christie - 2m
    Rogic - 2m
    Eddie - 15m
    Ntcham - 2m
    Shved - 1m
    Bayo - 1m

We should hopefully get 3m for M.Dembele too.

Thats over 40m, plus we have got our money back on Paddy. So we should pull in 45m off sales.

Thats even writing off the profit on frimpong

Thats 45m without a decision on GK. We could get a few million for Barkas back.

We will also have some high earners off the books.

The 4 loan player must average 20k a week.
Then theres brown on 20k plus. So theres 100k a week saved on them 5.

Add your Ntcham and Eddie and Rogic all on that top rate wage bracket. So theres 8 players on top end of the wage bracket leaving.

So no reason we cant bring in 10 players for 50m on 20k - 25k a week and be any worse of
