    It's a tough group

City under Pep will be very difficult to beat and Gladbach plays a not too dissimilar style...nevermind Barcelona

    Every point matters

If we can get 3 points at home to Borussia Gladbach, then we are in a very very good position. Potentially level with Man City (as they will undoubtedly lose in the Nou Camp).

All of the momentum would then be with us going away to Gladbach....

Dare to dream and all that. We could do Barca at home again maybe (draw)....

If we can win one game against the germans then that could get us 3rd...so long as they lose all the barca/city games.
Didn't think we would get a single point this year so happy to be proved wrong after 2 games.

That result has instilled a fair amount of belief in the team for me that wasn't there before. We will need to be more solid against the Germans though if we wanna see European football post xmas.

The way the games work out are perfect for us. Beat the germans at home next puts us on 4 points (assuming city lose as its in nou camp) will be on 4 points also.
Next game away in germany even if we lose they go only on 3 points. Very good chance barca will do double and secure the group then. so it would look like barca 12 points celtic and city 4 points and germans on 3.
next game we get barca at home who will have won the group. lets say we lose that. City will 100% want to win in germany to secure 2nd place and good chance of win there.
city 2nd with 7 points us on 4 and germans on 3.
last game is us at city and germans away to nou camp.
3rd is a real chance of happening if we win our next game.

Beating Gladbach won't be easy but if we do it at home. Then suddenly third is on, and we can't be disappointed with that. Barca will drop some points somewhere, but I don't bank it to be vs us. If we beat Gladbach at home, and City beat Gladbach, third is ours.

Even if barca have won the group by the time they play us at home they will still play to beat us and will....the game at home against the germans will decide it all imo.

Thing that makes me most confident is we weren't outclassed last night, we fully deserved what we got and were perhaps unlucky. I think over the whole 90 mins there was nothing between the teams. Given that Muchengladbach lost 4-0 to them we should be able to finish above them. I'm also kinda feeling like we can take something from the Ethihad.

Last nights game was a huuuuuuge confidence boost for the team. Massive. It wasn't just scraping a result, although we did hold on a bit at the end, we went toe-to-toe and earned a point.

The next two games in the group are the easiest on paper at least, and if we play like we did yesterday we have an excellent chance of taking something from both. I would personally be happy with 2 draws, or a win/draw scenario, either would put us in a good position for 3rd. The next one against BM will be exceptionally tough as it really is a must win for them, or at least must not lose.

This may be optimistic, but I think we've earned the right to be optimistic after last night:
Next 2 games, we beat Muchen twice. Barca beat City twice. This puts Barca on 12, us on 7, City on 4. If we then get a point at home to Barca and City lose to Muchen, that's us guaranteed 2nd.

Aren't you forgetting man city v us ?

Best best scenario would have Celtic and man city on 8 points...

I think the Barca hammering would undo us on goal difference.

I think we'll beat Gladbach at CP possibly get a draw in Germany to give us 5 points. Cant see us beating Barca at CP and unsure about City away, could possibly take another point. That would safely put us in 3rd as I cant see them beating Barca at the Nou Camp and probably only drawing with City at home.
