I think we will end up with 3 or 4 points, none from Barca or City.

That's most realistic. Anything from Barca City is a bonus. If we want third place then we must at least beat Gladbach at home and take it from there.

We will need to play out of our skin to get third. There is always a chance that we get something from Barca or City, but the odds are stacked against it. I can see why folks are optimistic about the home games, but again City and Barca will be heavy favourites to win at CP.

Don't think the results will be good.. so we can only hope that the performances are encouraging and that we can walk off with our heads held high.

most of us are realistic enough to know that getting bumped into the EL is probably going to be the aim as we copped a really tough draw.

Can we pick up two home wins? with the fans in full voice and our team playing at their best then its not beyond us. Our defence is the only concern as we are up against the best strikers in world football.

Just ask that our team don't self destruct and do themselves proud

If, * willing, we get that far, i predict a Celtic triumph against Real Madrid and Dembele and Griff showing Ronaldo how it's done. :icon_mrgreen:

To be honest if we end the season being dumped out of Europe losing most of these games BUT (and ONLY if this happens) winning a treble I will be happy. That said Celtic I think are capable with some nous of exceeding expectations - just like your Dynamo Kiev's and Monaco's used to in the CL.

I'd take a 0-0 and a score draw away at Barca and City respectively and I think we can score 1 or 2 home/away against Gladbach which means beating City at home may see us through if not into 3rd and the Europa League. Anyone think we could do well in that competition?

It will all depend on the home games. In Barcelona we won't have a realistic chance. But at home we have - I reckon 7 points at home and then let's see what we can do in Manchester an Gladbach.
All in all 3rd place is realistic I think.

I want to win every single game. But that won't happen. I want to progress into the Last 16 but the odds for that is very slim. I think we can hope for 3rd. I fully believe we can take Borussia Mönchengladbach on and make them sit last if we play to our full capabilities.

We need to get as much points as possible at Home and get a outstanding result Away.

Havent read the whole thread, but ( on this subject ) did enjoy reading one of the posters on the fan forum of a very new club. Most of that clubs supporters are simply bitter twisted fuckwits spewing hate, but this one actually gave me a good laugh.

He was explaining to his very dear friends that he had spotted yet another Taig plot in the Champions League draw. His theory was based on the premise that EUFA was run for and by Papists.

Those same Papist chappies had rigged the draw to ensure that Celtic was in the toughest group so that we would come last and not qualify for the Europa league ...thus leaving us free to cheat his heroes of the SPL title with the aid of those pro-Celtic SFA refs and linesmen.

Back to the real World : I think we will get third spot on goal difference.

We don't even know who we're playing in the last 16 yet. :icon_mrgreen:
