Wil we be allowed to play Roberts against Man City?

Yes. No such rules in European competition to restrict a player from playing his parent club.

But might they not have something written into the loan agreement?

If we sort out the central midfield I think we may get 5 points. Finishing third would be magnificent.

I'm really not sure we are mate, maybe better going forward but still very open at the back.

6 points would be a brilliant achievement imo.

So, Big John Hartson reckons we can win all three home games and go through and I'm worried that we might not even get a point. His view is a bit unrealistic given the group; but perhaps mine is a bit too pessimistic given our history. Let's split the difference and say there is a realistic chance we could possibly get 4 points and take 3rd.

Obviously we're getting nothing except valuable experience in either game against Barça or in Manchester; but if we can win our home game against BMG and then pick up a point either at home to Manchester City or away in Germany, I think it would be enough.

Easier said than done, of course, but not impossible.

Hopefully this kind of thing below gets our key players to play ridiculously well above themselves, as it has done before, which is, of course, exactly what BBJ was pointing out:

    Celtic 1-2 City

    Celtic 1-3 Barca
    City 2-0 Celtic

1 point- the cost of not strengthening midfield up.

I think we'll finish 4th, praying for 3rd. Think board probably said "* it" when they saw our group, as we'd probably not progress even if we did strenghten midfield

Celticswede Sport does not always go the way we think it should go,i think we do alot better than many think we will do.
Playing Barca away first is good,i think the 2nd game will tell us where we will be at,and what a time to do the business, against a team that has spent more in the Summer that all the teams of Holland,Turkey and Russia put together!

I know that, we shouldn't have beaten barca, but we did. Just saying that I'm not getting my hopes up, nothing is impossible in football though :50:
