Couldn't see a thread for Horse racing so decided to start one.

Don't know much about racing, but will be at York races this Sat for a Stag Night. Anybody have any surefire tips?

My only surefire tip is you will lose!

Bet small mate, and you will enjoy your day/night better.
Also.....dont bet anything over 10/1 or you are throwing your money away unless you have knowledge or good reason to back at such a price.
I dont know your wealth or how much you will have to spend, but id say £5 a race is plenty.Even if you go with 2 horses per race.....which is a good tip in itself. You wont cheer any louder by betting more, but you will be totally * off if you lose a lot of money.

The only horse i'd bet on is Black Caviar. Yet to lose a race.

Aye, but my bet is it will cost you £10 to win a £1.
I wouldnt be betting at those odds.

One winner from 7 races, more or less covered my day. £10 down overall which is not too shabby especially when some of the lads I was with got screwed.

As this is specifically a horse racing thread, did anyone else's chin drop watching Frankel yesterday?* me.....that was awesome, in the true sense of the word.

The amount of coverage Black Caviar has gotten this week is unreal. What a horse she is!

Looking forward to seeing her.Its quite surreal to have her and Frankel at the same meeting.May not see their likes again.
Im hoping to figure out a way of going to see Frankel before he retires! He is worth silly money now.

Wow, very close. Not sure what Nolan was playing at, nearly cost him big time.

    Awesome, awesome horse!

Black Caviar tore two muscles yesterday during the race, no decision has been made on her future.

Frankel the freak runs again tomorrow,(Wednesday) at Glorious Goodwood.
Looking forward to seeing him again and hoping he keeps the record going......although i suppose only him being off colour will prevent him winning.

Frankel runs later on today 3.40 at York looking to add another victory to his collection i put a bet on him £100 to win by 10 or more lengths at 4/1....You can get 4/5 for him to win by 5 or more lengths,or 2/1 to win by 7 or more lengths.....I went for the greedy option:icon_mrgreen:
