With regards to a 2nd wave and a peak we will just need to wait and see perhaps Scotland who have stayed in lockdown longer won’t be as badly his as London etc notice the media and now back jumping on the band wagon though

Honestly Paul the media over here are telling people half a story about the restrictions in Spain and the islands.

they had a 2 week incoming quarantine summer holidays cancelled was the headline! Read a Spanish paper the 2 week thing was always going to be in place to 30th June - non-story.

they had people cancelling Benidorm and Tenerife the local papers are then reporting 67% of bookings for July to September came from the British market for these places.

they then contacted a woman in Spain who is like you and me a punter, who happens to be the head of the local expat business board she gave her opinion they ran with “Brits barred from Benidorm to 2021” she then calls them out says that’s not what I said to you I said “Brits here could be 2021 before we get back to the sales levels of old” and the sun online blocked her and have refused to answer her messages she tweeted out!

We always get the same room it’s right at the first floor and the palm trees from the garden shade it and it keeps room cool at all times. Been in contact regularly with the woman (from Balornock originally) who works there so thats why I have been told about what Spain is doing and not the bullshit being fed to us here by media the hoteliers in Benidorm shut due to the state of alarm but it was also to protect the summer season and hope they could which according to them they have!

Shocking! A just don’t get that type of journalism. It’s just sensationalising a pandemic but to what end? It’s damaging Spanish tourism and a just can’t see what’s in it for the tabloids to print this. Surely the majority of sane people have ditched print media. Broadcast media is just as guilty. This is the reason I asked the original question on here. Googling just leads down the tabloid rabbit hole.

It puts people off and they stay in the UK for their summer holidays where tbh I wouldn’t feel as safe as I would in a Spanish beach or bar when you see the tossers in England! Yeah the 2.5hr trip on the plane is a risk but with masks, hygiene measure and don’t forget planes use the same air filtration system as hospitals it’s about staying aware!

Anyone know the exact rules upon re-entering the country?

Say I do go to Thailand, when I come back am I able to book myself into a hotel at the airport and leave the country again within 24hours?

Since been offered a voucher from ryanair which is only valid for a year saying cash will eventually be offered but they are very busy.
Love holidays also saying the same, I'd rather just have the cash as both companies could go under, so I'll hang on for the cash plus I'll have to put in for new holidays at work when I'm back next week so cant book a new one till its okd.
Sure the boss will be wanting to hear that aswel.

Thailand has been uber cautious about the virus (their response has put the UK to shame) so i wouldn't be surprised if there's still a mandatory quarantine in place in July. I'm half expecting them to open up to the Chinese before anyone from Europe or North America. Difficult to predict though.

They're in a difficult spot as their economy is so dependent on tourism, but its a risk opening up now.

Aye apparently the Jet2 voucher in the terms hidden away says it must be used on a holiday within 6 months of the original departure date

Aye gonna be a lot of vouchers not used and the holiday companies know it.
6months to a year to use a voucher, aye hold on.
Most work places are not refunding holidays booked and means most won't be able to get the time off their work in the coming 6 months to be able to use the vouchers.

Exactly. If the air bridges are open a lot of people will want to get away though tbh.
