Eminem seems disappointing live, people accused him of miming at T and i can see why. I don't think he mimes, just has a really loud backing track playing over him which defeats the purpose.

Mate there are 100s of really good lyricists underground these days, Diabolic, MF Doom, Apathy etc and legends like Canibus, Ghostface Killah, Kweli and Nas still dropping good stuff. Theres slightly more commercial lyricists out there too like Slughterhouse, J Cole and Jay Electronica
But if your talking about main stream i agree no hope really, wish i grew up when Wu tang and so on were getting radio play:54:

Eminem needs to iron out a few bits here and there and he'll be on fire again.

For punchlines and pure comedic value, no one can touch him.

Listen to this track with pink, hilarious

Worth the 4 minutes, if you a quick laugh

Songs like the ones with Pink and Rihanna had me reaching for the sick bucket tbh.Not the Eminem that i love,if it wasn't him,for that last album i'd accuse him of selling out.

Big L is the greatest ever at funny punchlines, Eminem isn't even in the same league.

This is what Pearce was saying on the last page about Eminem, he is (was) good but people make him out to be so much better because they have only heard pretty mainstream chart stuff, I may have misread you, and if I have I apologise, but I doubt it.

If you are comparing Eminem with Lil Wayne, Drake and post Black Album Jay-Z then you'd be forgiven for thinking this way, but that does proper Hip Hop a real injustice.

I personally can't stand rapping. I think some of the music behind the songs is excellent, but I feel that it's a false way of creating the music, i.e. it's completely soulless, all computers etc. I can't fathom why it's so popular, but as some folk have said on here - each to their own.

I do like some of the older stuff such as N.W.A, Public Enemy, Dr. Dre and Beastie Boys, as well as Common's album "Be". I just think that nowadays, for the most part, it's completely vacuous.

Ps. Eminem is a complete and utter *.

    Sorry should'ave elaborated a bit.

What i meant was that right now in the present theres no-one that can touch him for punchlines and comedic value. I don't mean he's the greatest rapper out there i want to make that clear.

He has a mixtape launching 7th march hopefully releases some head bobbing *.
