Absolutley bonkers if you ask me.
Won't take long for a driver to not see a cyclist in a blind spot and turn into them as the cyclist continues forward rather than stopping to allow the car to turn.
Also how long until a car hits someone crossing at a blind junction?

As a cyclist and pedestrian I will continue with the current rules as id rather be safe than flattened.
As a driver I always try and anticpate the unexpected anyway but this just does not seem safe to me.

Surely turning right and a cyclist decided to over take you can't have right of way? Thats * rediculously stupid. Although I expect the cyclist to go by on the left but turning right? Eh!?! Thats bonkers. Surely iv misunderstood that photo.

For me it's the school wain's, don't look or just dilly dally crossing the road, the thoughts that go thorough my head, visions of piles of them rolling up and over my windscreen, one day

Mental eh. Same if you are turning left, a following cyclist will be able to now come flying up your left and into your wing as you turn.

    • Well maybe with these new changes , all cyclists on the road should have to be fully insured, at present they are not, and can be at fault for an accident like everyone else, but you will have to claim your own insurance for any damage to your car/motorcycle...

    Agreed.

I have never agreed with calls for "road tax" since it is an emissions tax and bikes are zero emissions but insurance has always made sense to me since they can cause damage...eg damage to car body work, also physical damage and potential loss of earnings to pedestrians.

Walking to uni when I was younger I witnessed an older guy ride his bike on the path, and as a van crept up the his junction the bike kept going to cross the road, straight into the side of the van. 100% cyclists fault and the van had a huge cyclist sized dent. Guy got up and grabbed his bike and cycled off as fast as he could. I agree get insurance. If that was my car I'd have chased the * down :56:

Stopping to let a pedestrian cross is just utter chaos aswell because I can see quite a few people getting into bumper to bumper accidents by stopping the second they see someone.

That’s how it was in Australia when I lived there . Took me a while to adjust back to normal when I got home . This will take a while but it’s all for the good

Pedestrians have right of way at junctions, * off :56:

If anyone has drove through a pedestrianised town centre, Kirky for example, and witnessed the absolute and utter carnage that causes on such a small scale - watch the shambles this creates on a national one.

You’ll have * walking out on the road and ditzy old wummin running them over in their Nissan Micra’s on an hourly basis.

As a cyclist and a car driver up to now i have never knocked over a pedestrian yet or ran into a car when i am on my bike . When overtaking a bike in a car you have to leave a gap of 1.5 metres , penalty is 3 points or £100 or even both
