Welcome big yin. We badly needed more depth in defence so glad this guy is I'm regardless of what kind of impact he can/might make straight away.

Right back hopefully in before august and we're looking good.

HAE: "It was an easy decision for me. When my agent told me the club were interested I was so happy and did everything to sign here. I’m very happy and proud to be a #CelticFC player."

HAE: "#CelticFC are a very famous club in the world. They have always wanted to win trophies and to go through to the #UCL. I want to make history here."

HAE: "I spoke with Nir and
    @BKayalOfficial
and they said very good words about the people here and the club. They said it’s like a family and I can do a very good job with my qualities. I can’t wait for my first training session and game with my teammates."

HAE: "To see this amazing stadium was very exciting for me. Hopefully I can prove I deserve to be here. I’m a player that can do many things. I’m very quick and comfortable with the ball. I can do a good job as a right and centre back. I want to play

HAE: "I did pre-season with Hapoel Be'er Sheva and had very good sessions. I’m ready to play but I need a couple of days to get to know everything, of course.

HAE on Neil Lennon: "We spoke yesterday. He is very happy and has been very positive about me. It makes me so happy to hear those words and I want to give back on the field

Hatem Abd Elhamed knows his late brother will be looking down on him at Celtic after revealing his grief-stricken family’s pride at earning a dream move to Parkhead.

The Israeli defender suffered unimaginable tragedy 11 years ago when his younger sibling Muhammad died in his arms following a horror road accident.

He was hit by a truck having stopped to get some food on the return journey after joining Abd Elhamed at training one day.

Abd Elhamed has been inspired by his memory and the defender admitted his success in football has helped his family through the darkest times.

The 28-year-old was officially unveiled at Parkhead yesterday after sealing a £1.6 million move from Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Abd Elhamed has been inspired by his memory and the defender admitted his success in football has helped his family through the darkest times.

The 28-year-old was officially unveiled at Parkhead yesterday after sealing a £1.6 million move from Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Losing my brother was a big tragedy. He died in my hands. It was very difficult for me, my parents, my whole family.

But he is always with me, when I train, when I play in games. As a family, we think about him all the time. He is still part of us.

It was very difficult to come out of this. My succeeding in football gave my family energy, my parents the will to go back to life.

At the start, after he died, it was horrible. For the first couple of months we did nothing. We were just a really sad family.

Then I said to myself ‘only I can take my family back to life’ and make them smile again. I did everything I could to succeed in football because that was the only way to life them up. I’m happy I did it.

“When I started to play with teams, I just wanted to do it for him and my family. It was tough for me. However, I am happy to be here now and I’m proud of what I have done.”

Abd Elhamed was paraded at half-time during Celtic’s 5-0 win over Nomme Kalju at Parkhead and he said: “It was an amazing feeling to see the fans and to know that I am here at this club.
