We were very unlikely to get as good a replacement, but we’ve went from Tierney to Boli/Taylor.

    The difference is incredible.

Looking at taylor in the first half i dont think his body is used to playing weekdays and weekends , looked leggy in the first half , dnt think the park being heavy at his side helped him any either.

Played in the worst areas of the park in terms of conditions, didn’t have his best game..

But, aye all three LBs seem to have flaws to their game, Taylor’s is a lack of pace.

If we're playing a back 4 then Taylor will do a dependable job.

Ask him to do doggies on the left of a 5 man midfield isn't going to see him at best effect.

Hayes is more suited to that role with his pace and greater attacking intent.

Just a shame Hayes can't execute that attacking intent very well.

Boli has never played anywhere near as badly as Taylor today....but gets slated for being this diddy..

    Mind boggling..

Hayes came on and was an instant improvement..

His crossing has to get better but he does carry the ball up the park for us and he made a difference down that left side at Hamilton when we looked out of ideas.

Not saying he's a long-term solution but at the moment that's how I see it.

Cluj away UCL qualifier he was much, much worse than Taylor was today.

Wasn't much better in the Europa group dead rubber either.

I’ll take your word for it mate. However, Cluj are a far better side than St Johnstone.

I like both Boli and Taylor.

Neither are bombscares, both will play well at times and both will play poor at times.

A few days ago it was all "the position is definitely his". Now, after one game on one of the shitest pitches and conditions ever, he's useless.....

    Don't include me in that.

Still a long way to win me over.

Already made my feeling on him known.

Hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not hopeful.

Never impressed me for Killie, nor Scotland, nor us.

Winger was going by him as if he wasn't there, passing into the abyss, was 10 yards behind our defensive line and play the guy in to score.

Aye, Cluj are better but I think a few things need to be taken into account today. Atrocious surface and the poor showing from the strikers - nobody giving him an outball up the line or inside. Both Eddie and Griff were standing staring at times.

The ball that he lost on the centre circle, Griff played it to him then made no effort to get into space, Taylor then has to turn back for an option and no-one else is busting a gut to show inside or at the back.

I think he done okay, all things considered. Not one for the highlights reel but he didn't hide.

Plus there is the fact that Taylor isn't playing the exact position Boli had been.
I think Boli is terrible at defending but brilliant on the attack. The irony now is that Boli would probably suit this new formation better.

I used to think that but I honestly don't think Boli is brilliant in attack. He doesn't beat his man often enough to be considered that.

For a guy with the power and pace he has, we should be seeing him burst by his man far more often. Stand up against him and he will pass it back the way.

Even up against a part-time Clyde RB he couldn't go by the guy and was giving away fouls.

It's frustrating, he has all the physical attributes to be a great player but for whatever reason he isn't turning them in to performances on the pitch for us.
