You don’t need footballing knowledge to see Ancelotti targeted and exploited Taylor in the second half.

Jesus *, can you not understand the difference between targeting an individual player and a specific area of the pitch?

Why didn’t he target the right hand side?

They did, their attack was focused down both wings mainly?

Every time that Vinicius * was running down our right, if he didn't have a go one on one with Juranovic, he was turning inside, giving it to Kroos who gave it to Modric who then made the game flow over to our left hand side.

Taylor had some strong points in the game and he also had some questionable moments but don't think he is worth singling out on this occasion. Steady game

I actually thought Jota was really poor in tracking back, leaving GT exposed.
For away leg with RM, Maeda would be a better option on LW, to start game.

The first goal Taylor ran forward to join the press as he's obviously been told to do. When they played the ball forward the central defenders were pulled over to the left leaving Juranovic exposed. It wasn't really anybody's fault it's just the way we choose to play. I'm sure if it had been the other way around and Taylor was in JJ's position you'd be blaming him for not covering well enough.
The second goal Modric cut inside him and then Jenz too and scored a good goal. I think that could have happened to anyone.
The 3rd goal he was clearly left 2v1. That's either the manager's fault for the way he tells the players to play or its another player's fault for not helping to cover the left side - or maybe it wasn't anyone's fault - maybe it's just what can happen when you're playing the European champions.
I'm not surprised at a few people singling Taylor out the first time we lose a match. It was inevitable.

Taylor had a decent game last night the fact he's been singled out cause the best team in world football gave him a couple moments is shocking btw

Usually the goals we lose in Europe there is a howler in there somewhere, however last night was different. That was just 3 genuinely brilliant goals. The third goal in particular was ridiculous.

As for them being the best club side, they’re certainly forming a very strong case. For me Modric is right up there with Xavi and Iniesta and you could argue that when he does call it a day he may well be considered the best of the 3. Kroos isn’t a million miles behind either. Also thought Valverde was phenomenal.

Taylor was solid enough last night. No complaints from me.

No way does Taylor deserve any criticism for last night. None of them do.

They shifted play over to the our left because it was easier to make progress against Taylor than Juranovic. There is no shame in stating the obvious fact that they cottoned on to Taylor not being as good as Juranovic. I don't understand why that is an upsetting conclusion given that it's perfectly apparent. No one is having a go at Taylor here or blaming every goal on him, but every player has their limitations.

Definitely. One of the few "good" performances tonight.

Thought he was one of our best players today. Combined very well with Jota.

Outstanding. At this current level he’s one of our best players.

He's been our best player this season so far in my eyes.

Absolutely outstanding. His work rate, ball retention and intelligence is commendable.
