    Our openly stated goal is to "come out of every window stronger".

    Tierney to Taylor is a massive downgrade. We have to look higher. More expensive, better calibre, better quality. Don't accept the cheap. We went into the window with over £40mil in the bank and just sold a prized asset for £25million. Cheapness cannot be allowed now.

    Totally agree, that should be the aim, but we have not managed to achieve this since for some time. We sold Dembele and Armstrong and lost Roberts and we didnt manage to replace them with players of equal or better ability.

    We have to sign players we can develop into better players, like Ajax do.

    We wont be able to sign a left back who is better than KT. Its just a harsh reality. Greg Taylor is undoubtably a big downgrade, but he may come in and kick on and become a solid left back for us in his own right.

    Who would have thought that Didier Agathe for 50k from Hibs would have been such a great servant for us?

    The thing is that we don't really need a left-back squad player either, if he was a right-back you'd probably take him but at left-back we have Boli, Hayes and Gutman actually looks decent and will probably be available come January or next summer plus Connell can fill in there.

    We need a first choice left-back.

    It might be a bit early to say but from three games, it is increasingly looking like there was very little quality in that Kilmarnock team and it was just that Steve Clarke was really good. Their best player was Mulumbu, look how useful he was here.
