That Depeche Mode when we score!!
Yes this is now officially his last year on the tour, odds on this was of course, but yes good luck to Andy Murray in his retirement.Off the court i am not his biggest fan.But he supports the SNP and would love an independent Scotland and of course through true sporting greatness for Scotland.
Imagine 2,3,4 or 5 decades ago and somebody saying a Scot will win the US Open then win Wimbledon and then win another Wimbledon, you would be blown off your feet with the gasps of laughter!!
Murray worked very hard to get to the top of the game at its highest standard in history,he had to contend with the 3 greatest players ever and took his body beyond the limits thus costing him in the long run as we see now,but got him the big titles. At his best he was a massive threatening thorn to Federer,Nadal and Djokovic and was perhaps unlucky not to win atleast 2 other Grand Slam titles.
It is always so good to have a Scottish Worldwide Sporting Superstar, can only do good big time for our nation, especially considering in that other huge sport we actually invented we have nobody.
So good luck Andy Murray, and we can look forward to you doing your bit from the heart when we finally say Yes.

I'd preferred to see him going out at the top.

He's not been fit to play for ages and is just dragging things out.

Really sad to see his career end this way. He must be so frustrated that he lived in such an era of tennis that he never collected more titles due to the high standards. Now he's the one who's career is done first and can't win once others are too old.

All the best to him and well done throughout his career.

As others will keep saying, he came at an era that was simply phenomenal and to have kept up there with those other 3 is a great achievement.

Not sure what the future will hold for him, I'd imagine coaching.

Theres been many excellent tennis players over the last 15 years who have won he-haw due to the brilliance of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. Murray done very well to actually win a few Grand Slams in this era.
Shame he won't be remembered as the talent he really is due to playing against the 3 GOATs.
I think if he'd been about instead Tim * Henman in the 90's he'd have won a * ton.

There are many great sportsmen who happen to be unfortunate to peak when they are against the greatest of their era - but i thnk all things considered Murray can be proud of his career.

He should have won at least 1 Australian grand-slam, that must hurt him being runner up 5 times, but he can be very proud of his achievments considering who he was up against- 2 Wimbledon titles, US open, and an Olympian as well as the Davis cup, plus dozens of other tournement wins..

Top man who can be very proud of his achievements.

Was great having someone to properly get behind at Wimbledon.

Lot of respect for the guy. Made me laugh when the English public complained about him having no personality when he had a tremendously dry wit.

    Enjoy retirement, Murray :62:

Absolute * legend. Gutted to see him retire. Had a great career and can rightly be proud of his achievements. Him winning Wimbledon is probably the closest thing I'll ever experience, to Scotland (or a Scotsman) winning a World Cup level tournament.

Would hope he's inspired a new generation of young Scottish tennis talent, hopefully we can see another Scottish pro at his level in the future.

It's more boring than cricket. ... and that's saying something.

And as for Sir Andy Murray...... a torn faced greeting mummy's boy that would win the Mr boring Olympics.
And his dug is a wee pot licker

But good luck to him in his retirement

    Ah bet he does....
But naw, in all seriousness, the guy is a sporting legend.
It would be hard to find anyone more driven than him. To play through the pain of a * hip takes some baws.

    Still don't like tennis though.

for me - an Absolute Legend!
in this sport, with all the money pumped into, the prestige, all those academies all over the world - what this cheeky fella from Dunblane achieved is...... something fkn else really
great guy on and off the court and (despite being branded otherwise) very fkn funny, too.
no PR polished, pre-rehersed bullshitting stuff which media always love the most.
you ask about the fkn game, you get lold about the fkn game (no fkn curing cancer or world hunger *)
