I don’t know any numbers but I don’t think we’re necessarily offering him a ‘fair wage’ because I think we’d rather move him on.

I think if he does have to move from here he wants even more which is probably the problem.

His agent is demanding about £8k a week higher than we’re offering, which is a big bridge to gap.

Given that he plays limited minutes, if we bend to his agent’s demands then the problem we have is that you’d have a queue outside Ange’s door (of arguably more deserving players) asking for big wage rises.

 

It's becoming a regular occurrence these days. It's embarrassing.

 

He's useful but not critical to Ange's philosophy.

As a result he's not worth potentially making him within top 5 of paid players at the club.

He's been a great servant for us no doubt about it but to be worth those wages for us, your use has to be more than 15 games a season when we could be responsible for playing 60 or so games in a season.
