Started playing DayZ on the X1 X. Games got potential few bugs here and there and problems with people server hopping the loot and dupilcating m4/ak47s but the next update has hotfixes for both.

Runs pretty well on the x for a pc port but the og xbox one is a bit rough at the moment

Thought I would do a quick roundup of some biggest rumours and bits of news from the last month or so.

Highlights include the usual Ubisoft leaks, some pretty big COD news, a Death Stranding trailer & release date and an interesting rumour regarding George R.R. Martin.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Assassin’s Creed: Kingdom/2020
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next year’s Assassin Creed is apparently set in the Viking-era.

It started when a Youtuber known as JorRaptor posted a video, of various posters found within a specific are in The Division 2 (another Ubisoft game) of some sort of Norse figure appearing to be holding an Apple of Eden.

This was then followed with an article by Jason Schreier of Kotaku, probably the most reliable industry insider (and has previously leaked past Asssassin’s Creed games) in which he claims that sources had previously told him that the next Assassins Creed game would be focused on Vikings.

It probably won’t be announced until next year, but I suppose there's a slim chance Ubisoft might tease something at E3.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Call of Duty 2019 & 2020
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there's been quite a lot of talk regarding both this year's COD game as well as next year'; so I thought I would do a quick roundup. COD 2019 is actually going to be announced today, so we'll soon see how much of the following is actually correct:

    Call of Duty 2019:

    • It’s apparently called ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’
    • It’s a soft/semi-reboot
    • Spec-Ops is back
    • It has a 4 Player Co-Op Campaign
    • Mixture of MW2 & MW3 maps
    • No exclusive marketing this year

    Call of Duty 2020:

You can read the full article about this here, but these are the main points:

    • It was originally going to be developed by Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare & WW2) and Raven Software (they used to make their own IP’s, but they’re basically a COD support studio nowadays. They were also the studio behind the COD4 remaster).
    • Raven were apparently going to be taking the reigns this time around, with Sledgehammer assisting.
    • It was going to be set during the Cold War and involved Vietnam.
    • Tension arose between the two studios over creative differences, so Activison had to step in.
    • Treyarch (COD3, World at War & Black Ops series) are now leading development and COD 2020 is now Black Ops 5.
    • Raven and Sledgehammer will now support Treyarch, with the work done so far being used as the basis for the campaign for COD 2020 (which will be a Cold War game).
    • Some within Activision are keen on free-to-play elements.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Death Stranding
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was announced yesterday that Death Stranding will release on the 8th November.

There was also another video that showed off a bit more gameplay, including a boss battle.

You can also click this link if you want to seem some screenshots, as well as pre-order & Collector's Edition details.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Final fantasy VII Remake
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Square Enix recently released a new trailer during Sony’s recent State of Play, the first since 2015.

The game is apparently still going to be split into multiple releases, but the exact details have still to be revealed. They’ve announced that they're going to be showing off more at E3, so expect more news soon.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ghostbusters game that came out last-gen is getting a remaster for PS4.

    Trailer

Most of the original cast were involved in this, with Dan Aykroyd & Harold Ramis helping to write the game's script. It got decent-ish reviews from what I remember, so if you're a Ghostbusters fan, it might be worth a look.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this month Ubisoft announced the latest entry in the Ghost Recon series, and the sequel to Wildlands – Ghost Recon: Breakpoint:

    Here’s the announce trailer:

There’s also a gameplay trailer for those wanting to see a bit more of it - Gameplay Trailer

Some gameplay details: (with more at the link):

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Great Rune
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About a month ago, a rumour claiming that George R.R. Martin (the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, the basis of Game of Thrones) was involved with a project by From Software (the studio behind the Souls series, Bloodborne and Sekiro) started doing the rounds.

After the initial buzz around the rumour started to die down, Martin himself seemingly confirmed the existence of the game in a blog post last week in which he discsussed the GoT finale and his future projects. In that post, which you can read here, he states that 'I've consulted on a videogame of out of Japan' (From Software are a Japanese studio).

In regards as to what this game actually is, we've only got vague rumours at the moment, but these are the three major

A YouTube channel Spawn Wave posted a video back in March regarding the rumours in which they claim following:

    • It's an open-world game.
    • George R.R. Martin is one of the lead writers.
    • You visit various kingdoms.
    • Abilities can be obtained by killing the leaders of these kingdoms.

Following Martin's blog post, a gaming website called Gematsu posted an article sharing a few more details:

    • The acronym for the game's title is 'GR'.
    • It's been in development for three years.
    • It's open-world.
    • You can ride horses.
    • It's published by Bandai Namco (who published the Dark Souls trilogy).
    • It will be revealed during the Microsoft conference at E3.

GamesRadar then followed this up with their article in which they state the following:

    • It's called 'Great Rune'.
    • It's set in the Norse world and explores Norse mythology.
That's basically all that's known at the time of this post, but if the rumours are correct, expect more details soon.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Capcom held a mini-event for the upcoming expansion during which they showed a trailer, shared some details an announced a release date (6th September)

    Trailer

The major takeaway is that they’re adding a whole new region, several times bigger than anything else in the game, and new monsters. But if you’re interested in a more extensive breakdown of the expansion and the new gameplay feature, Capcom posted a blog about it.

The expansion itself will cost £35, but Capcom will also be releasing a GotY/Definitive Edition that bundles the base game and the expansion for £50.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Mortal Kombat 11
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following the release of MK11 on Switch, people were able to dig into the game's files and discovered references to nine characters that appear to DLC. As always there's a mix of actual MK characters as well as guest characters.

The first season will contain six characters, with one character (Shang Tsung) having already been announced. So assuming the second season will also have six characters, there's still potentially three characters that have yet to be leaked.

    Here's the list:

    MK Characters:

    Fujin
    Night Wolf
    Shang Tsung
    Sheeva
    Sindel

    Guest Characters:

    Ash Williams (The Evil Dead)
    Spawn (Spawn)
    The Joker (DC)
    The Terminator (The Terminator)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Medievil Remake
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Predator: Hunting Grounds
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sony announced a new, exclusive Predator game coming next year. It's by the studio behind the recent-ish Friday the 13th game, so if you're familiar with that you'll know what to expect.

It's only a CG trailer at the moment, but you can watch it here.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Red Faction Evolution
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nvidia have seemingly accidentally leaked the existence of a new Red Faction game called, ‘Red Faction Evolution’

THQ Nordic did remaster Red Faction: Guerilla last year, so maybe that was laying the groundwork for a new entry in the series. If this dosen’t appear at E3, I’d expect an annoucnemtn at Gamescom in acouple of months

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Roller Champions
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A new Ubisoft IP was leaked earlier this week called ‘Roller Champions’, an online multiplayer game based on roller derby (as eluded to by the name). A website called 'The Spiel Time' also has some images as well as some brief footage showing off a track (which you can see here).

It sort of seems like Ubisoft's attempt at a Rocket League-like game and I imagine it's pretty much a lock for E3 (I wouldn't even be surprised if they release it during or just after their show).

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Last of Us: Part 2
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's been quite a few rumours lately that TLoU: Part 2 was going to be announced for release this year. However, following the announcement of Death Stranding being Sony's major Winter release this year, Jason Schreier had this to say regarding TLou

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ubisoft Pass
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Possibly another E3 announcement, but a listing for an ‘Ubisoft Pass Premium’ appeared on the Ubisoft store earlier this week. Nothing has been leaked or confirmed yet, but current speculation seems to be that it’s going to be something in the vein of EA Access

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Watch Dogs 3
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the same article as the Viking AC game, Kotaku confirmed that Watch Dogs 3 will be set in London. It’s not much of a surprise, given that Watch Dogs 2 heavily hinted at the setting but now it’s pretty much confirmed.

WD3 is pretty much a lock for E3 and I expect it’ll come out early next year.

Vikings, I do like watching things of that nature but really this * is getting milked to the max.

I'm. Enjoying AC Odyssey, but the whole Assassins Templar thing is now finished and they just throw in a mention of Apple of Eden here and there.

Just finished with Madden 19 and won 2 superbowl in a row, was quite cool that the 2nd season was played at Hard Rock Stadium which will host this next seasons SB, so was a good touch.

Gonna trade it in now for that Farcry New Dawn.

Just a quick roundup of some of the big news heading in to E3. There's been more Ubisoft leaks, the From Software/George R.R. Martin game has an official name, Cyberpunk stuff, some game announcements and there's also some Xbox rumours.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Baldur's Gate III
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bladur's Gate 3 was announced during the Google Stadia event. It's being developed by Larian Studios (best known for the Divinity: Original Sin series), and will come to Stadia & PC (I expect console ports to be announced later down the line).

    Announcement Trailer

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Bleeding Edge
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A recording has been leaked online showing what appears to be a trailer for Ninja Theory's new game 'Bleeding Edge' (you can watch it here).

Some details had been previously rumoured, but the game itself was apparently going to be announced during the Xbox conference tonight. The game was in development prior to the MS acquisition and is said to be a stylized, 4v4 multiplayer melee focused, brawler-like game.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A listing for a new Borderlands 2 DLC titled 'Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary' was discovered on Steam.

    Here's the description:

There's also an album with some screenshots.

This is apparently due out on the 9th June (today) and will be free according to the listing. Given the date, it's likely to be announced during the Xbox conference which starts later today at 9pm.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (which is the remastered bundle containing Borderlands 2 & The Pre-Sequel) is one of the PS Plus games for June, so anyone with a Plus subscription could download that and play the DLC.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cyberpunk 2077
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An image has been doing the rounds online which apparently shows both the cover art and contents of the 'Standard Edition' for Cyberpunk:

According to this 'Standard Edition' will come with the following:

    • A map of 'Night City' (the game's setting)
    • Two postcards
    • Some stickers
    • Some sort of compendium
For what it's worth, The Witcher 3 also came bundled with similar stuff, so it seems like this could be pretty likely.

I expect this is going to be shown off during the Xbox show later tonight at some point, with a release date possibly being announced as well. CD Projekt were apparently pushing hard for a 2019 release, but it looks like 2020 is more likely at this point.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Darksiders: Genesis
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THQ Nordic have announced a new spin-off/prequel for the Darksider series, called Darksiders: Genesis, Unlike the main sereis which are third-person, this is a top-down and Diablo-like.

    Here's the trailer:

    Story Details (courtesy of Amazon):

It's due to release later this year on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch and Xbox One.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Destiny 2
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's been quite a lot of major Destiny 2 news this week, most of it relates to how the game will be changing going forward now that Bungie are no longer working with Activision.

The major news is that Destiny 2 is going free to play and is being renamed 'Destiny 2: New Light'. Here's a summary of all the changes (original summary here, but everything's posted below anyway):

Bungie also announced the next expansion for Destiny 2 called 'Shadowkeep'

    Reveal Trailer

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Destroy All Humans! Remake
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THQ Noridc also announced a remake of the original Destroy All Humans. Here's the reveal trailer:

It's due out in 2020 and will release on PC, PS4 & XBOX One

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Elden Ring (Great Rune)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rumoured From Software/George R.R. Martin collaboration that I discussed in my last post (see that for some more details) has seen further leaks ahead of it's official announcement tonight.

According to Gematsu, a public url was being hosted by servers used by Namco Bandai, the rumoured publisher of the game, which revealed more details about this game as well as some other titles (more on them below).

It was originally reported that the game would be called 'Great Rune', but from this leak we now know that the actual title of the game is 'Elden Ring'. Here's the official art (some more at the previous link) as well as a brief description:

This is apparently going to be announced at the Xbox conference, so expect more details later tonight.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    FIFA 20
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EA have announced a new game mode called 'Volta' for FIFA 20, which is new take on FIFA Street. Here's the trailer:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Mortal Kombat 11
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a quick update from the last post.

NetherRealm released a trailer regarding the first season/fighter pass for Mortal Kombat 11. It shows off gameplay for the first DLC character, Shang Tsung, and also confirmed two returning MK characters (Nightwold & Sindel) as well as guest character (Spawn). The trailer ends with a tease for two further character announcements, one of which appears to be Ash Williams (from the Evil Dead series).

If you're interested in knowing who the other DLC characters are see my previous post.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remasterd & Switch Edition
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also revealed via the Namco Bandai leak was a re-release of the original Ni No Kuni.

Here's what appears to be the game's cover and the official description (there's also some screenshots at this link):

The Remaster is coming to PC & PS4, whilst another version, which supposedly won't feature the same graphics & technical improvements, is also coming to Switch.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's been quite a lot of news coming out regarding this game over the last week. Firstly, here's the gameplay reveal trailer that EA streamed yesterday:

    Gameplay Trailer

Gameinformer have also been doing a lot of coverage, which will continue throughout the month. I saw a summary elsewhere (source here), which I'll post below:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Tales of Arise
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The final game revealed via the Namco Bandai leak was a new entry in the Tales series, 'Tales of Arise'. You can see some screenshots at this link, and here's the title artwork and the leaked description:

It's coming to PC, PS4 & Xbox One.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The Witcher 3
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a small bit of news here, but it seems worth sharing anyway.

There's been rumours for a while now, but Eurogamer's News Editor, Tom Phillips, is claiming that The Witcher 3 is going to be announced for Nintendo Switch at E3 during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ubisoft
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just going to combine two sections in to one here. In addition to Roller Champions (see my previous post for more on that) and Watch Dogs 3 (more on that below) Ubisoft are apparently going to announce two new games at their conference tomorrow night. You can click the link to read the Eurogamer article regarding this, but to summarise:

The first is Rainbow Six: Quarantine:

    • This project was originally a completely new 'peaceful' sci-fi IP, with the development name of 'Pioneer'.

    • That was cancelled and development was rebooted/retooled into a Rainbow Six game

    • It's a co-op PvE game, rather than PvP like Siege.

    • Some people are speculating that it's an expanded version of the Outbreak mode from Siege (which was already apparently using stuff from the scrapped version of Pioneer).

    The second is 'Orpheus'

    • It's an RPG with a smaller scope.

    • It's said to have a similar art style to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

    • It will be a full priced game.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Watch Dogs Legion
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A website called 'TheNerdMag' discovered a listing for 'Watch Dogs Legion' by Ubisoft on Amazon earlier this week. This listing confirmed the London setting, revealed the game's full title, some story details and revealed a fairly interesting gameplay mechanic...

This was later backed up backed up by Kotaku (who confirmed the title and the play as any NPC gimmick) and then by Ubisoft themselves via the official Watch Dogs twitter account:

The game will be officially revealed at Ubisoft's conference on Monday(9pm-11pm).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Xbox E3
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Just a quick roundup here.

It's likely that MS will talk about their next-gen 'Scarlett' consoles tonight. I wouldn't expect a full blowout, that will likely be it's own event, but there's rumours that they're going to be mentioned in some capacity. Current industry talk is that there's two consoles 'Lockhart' (a cheaper, streaming console) and 'Anaconda' (a more expensive, high-end console)

There's also been confirmation that they're going to be announcing more studio acquisitions tonight. As of writing this, there's been no concrete rumours, but Studio Wildcard (Ark: Survival Evolved), IO Interactive (Hitman) & 4A Games (Metro) seem to be the three names that I've seen being speculated about the most.

Just to give the heads up to anyone interested, Sony are doing a ‘State of Play’ video/stream at 9pm during which a trailer for The Last of Us: Part 2 is going to be shown, and a new Batman game is potentially going to be announced. It’s only going to be 20 minutes long, so it’s worth tuning in.

As it stands, the following are rumoured or confirmed to be shown during the stream:

The Last of Us: Part 2 - The the trailer/demo is rumoured to be 5-6 minutes long. We’ll also probably get confirmation of the release date, which was leaked a couple of days ago.

Batman - Warner Bros. Montreal, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins, have been teasing an announcement this week for the 80th Anniversary of Batman. This new game is apparently going to involve the Court of Owls (with a now deleted tweet from the writer who created them seemingly confirming it). I’d say it’s 50/50 whether this turns up now or in December, but the way in which they’ve been teasing this leads me to think it’ll be today.

Modern Warfare - Activision/Infinity Ward have implied that a new trailer, specifically a story focused one, is going to be shown soon. Giving that Sony have the marketing deal, it seems like a safe bet to turn up here.

MediEvil Remake - This is coming out soon and a demo announcement was leaked earlier today. It’s pretty much guaranteed to show up.

Wattam - The developer all but confirmed that this is set to be shown.

Some other smaller games/indies like Wattam, might be shown as well. I’d say there’s an outside chance that Final Fantasy VII might turn up in some capacity, but this particular stream seems pretty packed already.

A Court of Owls Batman game would be incredible.

Hadn't noticed PS Now is down to 50 quid for a year's subscription. Think I'll be getting that.

Fallout 3, New Vegas, Oblivion are all on it. Plus a few cracking PS4 games.

Might want to download the games you're going to play if you have enough room. Games sometimes stop streaming or start to stutter if you
take a small few minutes break while playing. At least it does on my ps4. Luckily I have a external 6TB harddrive.

Looks like next Batman game is Arkham Legacy.

Batfamily playable characters and the Court of Owls will play a part.

Playing Division 2, it's OK, but very repetitive, just working through story mode and then that'll be me.
