I think people tend to forget that if a big bid comes in for a player, the player doesn't have much of say in if he wants to stay or not(well back in the Lennon era anyway). Forster, Wanyama, Ki, Matthews all left yet don't get the * that hooper gets for leaving. Surprised he didn't do more in the EPL but that Norwich team he had around him was rank rotten, he still managed 8 goals and was the clubs top goal scorer that year. Thought we could've lured him back in when Norwich went back down but instead wanted to help get Norwich back to the premier league (which he did). Not sure his decision to go to Sheffield Wednesday of all the clubs in the world to go to he decided them probably a nice pay check no doubt. Don't think his agent done him any favours as he had the talent to be a back up striker at any mid table epl club.

Still for me best natural Celtic striker since Larsson.

Absolute predator and underrated game intelligence. Him in his prime with big Edouard beside him would have been a sensational partnership.

He is home. Leave him there, he won't get a sniff of an England cap up here.

Liked him when he was here but he threw it away to join absolute * and his career suffered as a result. Probably earned a few quid so good luck to him.

Hated when folk said he was just a poacher

So many of his goals he started the move from retrieving the ball at the half way line. Always came deep and had the pace to leg it into the box to finish.

Can't believe he ended up where he has. 1 more season here he probably wouldve got a better move

He was absolutely desperate for a move to the epl. Fair enough he wanted his england cap and a move there would have certainly helped his case.

The reality of the situation was he was niave, arrogant ("im going to play for barcelona one day) and believed his own * and that of the southern masses that ANY move to englands promised land is a step up from scotland.

Everyone told him what he was doing to his career. Everyone urged him to dign a new deal... hold out for a real offer from a real club where he would be secure. He swapped CL football at one of the biggest clubs in europe to play second fiddle to van wolfswinkle in a system which was in no way was suited to him for a team destined to be in a relegation battle despite their self proclaimed hype.

He did a great job for us and im thankful for his service.

But he joins a long list of wallopers who thought that the sun rises and falls with the EPL and that Celtic are lucky to have them... instead of other way around. They run down south thinking theyve "made it" and wind up * their career up.

He gets zero sympathy from me. He made his bed. He can sleep in it.

I doubt he has any regrets about leaving us.

He's been done for a few years. Nowhere to be seen due to injury and looked big and cumbersome last time he was spotted. He made a bad career move although I understood his desire to go at the time.

That's gonna annoy me that Europa is above the champions League.

Could have been a Celtic legend or a least waited a few years before jumping ship

No doubt had he been an ex hun the orcs would have been clamouring to have him back as the solution to all their problems

No as important as the Conference South.
