Well as I said a bit excited now as things seem to be going to plan but still a long way to go and need a bit of luck (Sign for Bursaspor already Miller!).

Knowing said luck Anthony Stokes will score a penalty on the last day of the season to overtake Hooper as Scotland's top goalscorer. That would be harsh. :icon_mrgreen:

Definitely, would be shocked if he never gets a game for England.

I dont know about that lad. Players who play in Scotland usually get ignored by the England team. Look at Sutton at the time he would have been a far better partner for Michael Owen than Heskey, but was always over looked.

This is not meant to be a thread to bash him or anything, but seriously if any other players had missed some of the chances hes missed this season, people would get right on their backs. Granted hes a class act but hes missed quite a few chances this season, tripping up v united, hitting the post, then in the st johnstone in the cup slipping at vital times, as well as against hearts shooting over the bar, those are just off the top of my head. In comparison stokes gets so much more stick for whatever reason when hes our top scorer and assister, tbh i feel more confident with him on a 1v1 than hooper yet he gets much less credit than him. Like i said this isnt to bash hooper but to put into context what he does compared to others yet doesnt get half as much stick. Hopefully he starts taking more of his chances!

PS: im ready for some backlash:p

More important than how many he misses will be how many he scores. Lets wait till the end of the season to judge him.

the overall underlining argument will be that without Hooper there is no Stokes as from previous performances it has shown that a Stokes without Hooper is poor where as a Stokes with Hooper is near enough unstoppable such is the style of play of Hooper he has been very unlucky not to score and remember against he would have if not he been taken down by the keeper only for stokes to nick it the cheeky bassa:icon_mrgreen:

Don't think he has missed that much chances, but he is a striker so he is going to miss chances.

Can see where your coming from but its better that hes at least making the effort to score and putting his soul into playing than doing nothing. A good few of stokes goals have been set up by hooper and 13 goals in 19 games is still a great figure. we have to remember hes spent a lot of this season injured and Compare his statistics to stokes whos had 16 in 23 games shows hooper is more consistent (With stokes having a good run the past few games) . Whilst they are both excellent and stokes deserves credit, Hooper stands out more for me.

he's a vital part of our team, every player will miss a few chances now and again but he scores more than he misses, and he gets assists too.

Hooper has a better workrate off the ball, he plays a lot of people through, Stokes can be a lot greedier. But I think they're both great.
