You'd imagine he's just about found his level if you consider all top teams have goalkeepers who are good with their feet.

Though he's probably better than what Liverpool have.

Thought Everton might have made a move before they nabbed Pickford.

Best English keeper at the moment.

    Agree @packybhoy
Best England have, yet they tend to still be unsure for some reason.
Better keepers out there, even in the EPL who are foreign, but I am surprised a little that he has stayed at Southampton and the likes of Liverpool haven't snapped him up.
    Perhaps Arsenal when Cech leaves?
De Gea, Lloris, Courtois Are all better, so that rules out those 3, Man City will always just throw big money at the biggest foreign sounding name really. So only really Liverpool that sit above Southampton for a team he could "step up" to.

I'd agree with De Gea and Courtois, but I don't really see the hype of Lloris. He's a decent keeper who occasionally pulls off the odd great save, but it prone to a few * ups as well.

I used to like Spurs a bit, but have gone off them in the past few years. Their fans seem to have got their heads stuck up their * recently, thinking they're a world class team and with a world class support. They're quite possibly one of the most dullest fan bases in football.

Delighted he got a new contract. Hes the best english goalkeeper and i don't know why they stick with Hart.

It is surprising that given the team he's at, he typically has one of the best records in that league yet there has never even been a wiff of a transfer.

Not to the likes of Everton, West Ham, back to Newcastle, Liverpool fair enough only really Liverpool seem like a step up but anyone of those teams or their ilk would instantly be improved with him in goal.

Just noticed he's not in the latest England squad. Is the big man injured?

No idea. Still surprised me just how underrated he is by Southgate et al.

Shot stoppers are out of fashion, at the moment. Goalkeepers like Lloris and De Gea are viewed to be on another level (rightfully) due to their distribution skills. Saying that, England has no one exceptional in that category, so it is a bit peculiar that he hasn't picked up more caps, but then we know the squad is not always dictated on talent/merit.

Yeah definitely. If he was about in the prem 10/15 years back FF would be much more likely to get a game for them.

I'm largely apathetic to international football in general, it just doesn't have the entertainment that club football does. I'll watch it, but I'd always opt for a Celtic/St Pauli game if they happened to be on at the same time instead.

But I'd always opt for Ireland over England because there's always more enjoyment when Ireland get a result, due to the underdog status. That and the obvious similarities between the ROI and Celtic too.

Also, there's too many EDL/NF * in the England support where I just wouldn't feel comfortable to really support or stand amongst them. Watching an England game with them would just be like watching a Sevco game at Ibrox with all the right wing *.

Southampton fans really don't like him these days. Seemingly he's been terrible since returning from injury.

I just saw the goals from their game earlier and he had a bit of a nightmare for both Newcastle goals. He's so slow.

Fraser really can't afford to to be anything less than an exceptional shot stopper at that level since he has a limited skill set.

Needs to pick it up or * be the next to be replaced by a continental sweeper keeper.

Felt for him. Newcastle support was ripping the pish out him everytime he touched the ball..

Clearly affected him being his boyhood club who deemed him surplus in my opinion. Even pass back's he was dallying on the ball and almost getting caught on the ball, luckily for him it ended up a goal kick off the striker..

Probably 4th maybe even 5th choice for England now with Butland, Hart, Heaton and Pickford

He's a better keeper than Hart. Hart looked a calamity away at Burnley and should've given away a penalty yesterday. He's genuinely finished. Heaton isn't on Forsters level. Butland also I've never seen produce a phenomenal display on par with Forster who has numerous time's for us in the champion's league or with Southampton..

Pickford may be the main 1 soon..
