FM 09 General chat

First thing you do after installing Fottball Manager

Well like most of us on her who has played FM before....really looking forwards to playing FM09.

Like always the first thing I do after I get the game is edit the database.

Things I always look for are firstly, of course Celtic. I look at the players ratings and abilities and club information see if everything is in check.

Secondly I look at Rangers, see whether a Hun was a researcher for SI.

Then I deal with the rest of the SPL and go thru the teams and lookign at player's rating.

Finally I may just look at some English players who might be overrated...like Andrew Johnson or Jimmy Bullard...cos since the game is developed by Englsih people they tend to give slightly higher ratings to England internationals or sometimes even English Premiership players in general.

And also usually our young stars are usually giving * ratings. Like Steven Fletcher, he had a potential of 145 is FM08...thats ridiculous considering players like Dave Nuggent was like 16X. Just cos he was English and scored a few goals in the Mickey Mouse Championship!!!

Some things to look for...I beliebe Scott Brown's rating is gonna be crap based on the DEMO and also cos he had a bad season last season....and they will not have used this season's form as much basis for FM09. So first thing I do is make sure Brown, McGeady, Maloney and Boruc are properly rated.

Then also I check some HUNS like Baz, McCullogh, Darcheville and Novo to see if they are overrated!!!

 

Basically a thread about tactics , formations , players , teams etc. So for everyone that has the game (i'm getting it tonight hopefully) what team have you went ?

 

FM2009 PROBLEM

Im trying to play after installation and it says
Your trial period has EXPIRED! Please visit: www.sigames.com
then it asks me to enter my product key

I cant get passed this so how do i get onto the game!! lol

Celtic started off last night, started off selling an buying players and sorting out the squad , made my tactic from my frame work from the demo , Watched the pre season games on 3d and saw where i could improve it so far doing ok , not fantastic but still a good lead in the spl.

Barca first real big test in champs league coming up ,

activation code is on your game mannuel ,

download steam Welcome to Steam. make an account, then reinstall fm and pick steam for the activation.

ANYBODY EXPERIENCING ERROR -51 or -52 PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

Persons experiencing an Error [-51] or [-52] when trying to activate their copy of the game should follow the instructions below.

The error messages relate to a failure to create a licence [-51] and failure to read from a licence [-52]. Therefore, the problem lies with the file system access and is not contributable to firewall programs. Anti-virus programs may be a contributing factor, this is still under investigation - we would ask that you follow the process below 'with' anti-virus on and if you are still failing to activate, please reboot and turn off antivirus.

1) On receiving the error, please uninstall the game
2) Please navigate to the following directory:

XP users: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate
Vista users: C:\Program Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate

3)Please ensure that it is the \certificate directory you are located in

4) Delete all content

5) Reboot the machine

6) Re-run the installation programme and retry activation - ensuring you have 'verified' your key using the following website: Football Manager 2009 - License Key Look Up

7) You should now be activated

If you are unable to activate, please try the following:

A)**VISTA USERS ONLY** Re-run the process above, when at Step (6) - try running the installer under Adminstrator privileges (you need to locate the Setup.exe file, right click and 'Run as Administrator)

B) ALL USERS - Re-run the process, but before Step (1) , please disable your Anti-virus software

If you are still receiving errors, please post them in this thread and we will fix on a first come first served basis.

The key code thing didnt work for me

Mate I'm having the same problem. It's a joke.

 

Thats a problem at there end mate keep at it you might get on eventually

 

So if i went out for a few hours came back and tried id get on?
