Watched Fall last night, quite enjoyed it. Mrs kept going on about the camera always focusing on certain things throughout the film, can't remember what, was concentrating on the movie. Thought the camera work was first class. :50:

I caught it last week at the cinema. Was pretty decent, especially for the very small budget and simply from the decriptions was enough to give me vertigo. Then again, I'm not real great with heights at the best of times, lol. Nice little detour for the director to work on a project that they are invested in rather than being roped in. Reminded me of a film from a couple of years ago, called Adrift, same sort of premise (on a raft in the middle of the ocean) but felt of the two, Fall is the one I'd choose to sit through again.

Have heard of Adrift but don't think I've seen it, will give it a bash. I thought for a minute you were meaning the film about the scuba divers that surfaced and their tour boat had left them, but think that was something different. Open Water it was called actually, just looked it up.

    Knives Out.

I’ve been meaning to get around to it for a while and with the trailer for the sequel dropping the other day, that gave me the push I needed.

I’d say I enjoyed it overall, but maybe not quite as much as I was expecting. I think it’s one of those instances where I’ve seen so much and praise and hype, it was always going to be nearly impossible to live up to it.

My only real major criticism is that the supporting cast, most of whom are pretty great, ultimately end up feeling a bit underutilised. It’s sort-of understandable given the way the story unfolds, and what’s there is still decent, but I would’ve liked just another couple of scenes with them all interacting with each other.

Yeah I remember the story unfolding when it actually happened. Just thought the movie went on a bit, although I'm sure it's nothing compared to what they went through!

    See How They Run

Good mystery/comedy. Great performances from Saoirse Ronan and Sam Rockwell, as always. Some proper laugh out loud moments.

Bullitt - Quite a famous old film but I'd never seen it before. Wish I hadn't bothered it's slow and boring as *.

The latest Batman. Good lord I found it sooooooo boring that I gave up with 30 minutes left. It's a type of film you'd only watch once and never again.

    Clerks III

Pretty funny as usual, loaded with injokes and references to the previous installments and other 'View Askew' universe (aka Jay & Silent Bob etc) picks in this conclusion to the Clerks trilogy, definitely made me think about life and reflect, and worth waiting during the credits for Kevin Smith's postscript.

    Bodies, Bodies, Bodies

This was actually not bad for what it is. Good small budget thriller, which is more about a group of 'friends' that to say the least is very toxic and it's actually more about that than the murders themselves and didn't outstay it's welcome... although will need to sit through it again as there were some things/details I missed the first time through

    See How They Run

Had a couple of laughs in this murder mystery/comedy, Saoirse Ronan's comic timing is spot on, entire cast are quality, would've gladly sat through another 20min of this, just to enjoy more of the side characters and actors clearly enjoying themselves before it got to the conclusion.

    Ticket to Paradise

Utterly predictable and boring. But I guess anyone wanting that is on the label know what they are in for.

Had all manner of people over the years talking to me about Star Wars and how I should be watching it, and how it's so mental that I've never seen any Star Wars films. For first time in ma puff sat down and attempted it. 30 mins was enough. I assumed it wouldn't be my cup of tea and should have just stuck to my guns. Could tell as soon as that wee R2D2 and the other metal * showed up it wasn't for me, but persevered for a while. Each to their own but nah.
