@Taz can you recommend any good true story films please? I've seen loads, but no doubt missed loads too, and need some to get me through the nightmare that is Christmas time

In the name of the father was good. Again as far as accuracy goes I'm not sure, but the fact they were innocent is appalling.

Brilliant movie and about as close to 100% accurate as you can get.

What sort of true stories are you into, as there are literally loads, that cover all sorts of things, from biopics to one off events to crimes, historical etc.

Went to this yesterday, and I still don't know. It's obviously trying to do the MCU version of what 'Into the Spiderverse' did so well, but I found 'No Way Home' much more difficult to follow.

Not the premise, but what actually happens, and maybe visually it's different but the narrative through the AD was very confusing for me to follow, especially towards the end and the who is doing what and when. So will need to sit through it again.

Any at all. If I hear about a true story film (or loosely based on truth), I'll check it out. Mr Nice, Midnight Express, The Hurricane, Hunger, In the Name of the Father, etc. Loads more but can't think properly just now coz still celebrating the win today

Not sure absolutely 100% accurate, but I really liked Green Book, based on Tony Lip and Don Shirley.

    Last Night in Soho

Initial feeling is disappointment. Edgar Wright is my favourite director, but this felt like the least Edgar Wright-y movie of his, by a distance. Still had lots of very smart set up and pay off (the Sandy foreshadowing mainly) but the script let the film down.

Loved the first half of it. The first couple of dream/1960s sequences were fantastic. Essentially up until the halloween party I was really invested. Second half of the film was a bit of a mess, repetitive and twists that were coming a mile off. Just felt it was a pretty good film that had potential to be incredible.

Goes without saying that all the technical stuff was top notch, as well as the performances. Third film I've seen Thomasin McKenzie in and she's just brilliant.

She was * incredible in that film with Ben Foster where they live in the Forrest in the run.

Interesting assessment @Officer Doofy as I really liked Last Night in Soho, but I have to admit that the audio description played a big part in that for me, as it was perhaps the best AD recording I've had to accompany a film in a long, loooong time, and really felt that jarring disorientation, shivers up the spine and hairs on my arms standing up (so to speak) at multiple points throughout - even in the third act.

Totally agree about the two leads though. Both women were phenominal.

14 Peaks Nothing Is Impossible: 7/10

Enjoyed this, pretty amazing guy is Nimal Purja. Only person to ever have climbed K2 without oxygen tanks supposedly. I watched Sherpa a few months back which was interesting. I knew the Sherpas were important to the climbers, but I honestly didn't realise the extent of their input. Vast majority of Everest conquerors wouldn't have had a chance without them, and they don't usually get enough credit. Mental watching him climb Kanchenjunga, while hungover. Only thing I can do when I'm hungover is get back on it or move between bed and the couch.

The town... Was a pretty decent watch, South Boston armed robberies what's not to like? Renner and Affleck were good in it.

The outsider... Had the potential to be a good film but Jared Leto was boring as * in it.
