Ma youngest daughter loves horrors. No my favourite genre. We watched It and It chapter two. Enjoyed the 1st. 2nd not so much. I was like a big feartie watching them by the way.

Loved the book. Thought the remakes were good but had in my head the original was better. Watched the original again they are really really dated.

    Absolutely bonkers!
I suspect it’s a ‘marmite’ movie - you’re either gonna love it or hate it.

Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe are brilliant in it (… who knew you could describe someone acting as an inanimate expressionless corpse as ‘brilliant’ - it’s mental!).

    7.5/10

Last night in Soho - 7/10 Wasn't my choice to watch it but thought it was pretty decent. Some good performances from actresses I'd never heard of before, and some great music.

I really liked it. So few original movies nowadays, but Edgar Wright can be relied upon for that (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver etc). I fully felt the disorientation and jarring narrative and blurred realities. One of the central actresses, (the one that played Sandy) was in the adaptation of Emma which was released just prior to covid, and she was good in that also.

Aye, some of it was a bit bizarre, near the start when it had her in the club watching Sandy go through her night back in the 60s, I was a little confused and thought it was going to be touch and go whether I enjoyed it, but it was intriguing. It was a bit surreal at times but I don't mind that if it's done right.

    Ghostbusters Afterlife

Dud. Dud. Dud. The tone is entirely wrong, it's boring, flat, lacks any sort of heart or humour and the characters are all completely forgettable. Literally the only flicker of a smile was from the Sigorney Weaver cameo in the vignette while the credits were rolling. The Ghostbusters reboot that came out a few years ago with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon might've slightly missed the mark (personally I was ok with it - not amazing but certainly not bad either), but I would gladly sit through that 2016 film a 100 times before sitting through the Afterlife ever again. Terrible.

    King Richard

2022 Oscarbait season is underway, and this is the Will Smith campaign right here. :87: It's pretty obvious that the original script/story was supposed to be on the Williams sisters, but getting Will Smith on board with the project clearly hijacked it, and shifted it in an entirely different direction to make his role the central character here. The story of the Williams' sisters is indeed a fascinating one, especially for any tennis/sports enthusiasts, which can be appreciated by anyone - and call me a cynic, but even though he will undoubtedly be in the contenders for the Awards season, deservedly or not - he is still Will Smith doing Will Smith things.

Eternals. It's the new Marvel film. Plenty of world building going on but still a pretty good story. Really enjoyed it.

Dune, for me, was sensational. I was fortunate to see it in the theater in IMAX/3D and that certainly made it more special but was an incredibly immersive experience - best cinema feel since LOTR

I had sensory overload in each & every scene and have since rewatched it twice (in 4K), plus I am heading back to see it in the theater this weekend

Thought it was a well constructed and qaulity movie. I like the fact they acknowledged a near 70? Year old car had a battery that worked first time and fired it up. Good stuff.
