I often watch movies whilst I’m doing other things, so I sometimes struggle to concentrate on subtitled films, but Parasite held my attention throughout.

    Really enjoyable!

    ALL OF THEM!!!!
Promising young Woman 6/10. Was too much of a chick flick for me. Different style type of chick flick tho, but the end was good.
Parasite 9/10. Quality, had me in stitches. A family of chancers, pure Highland dancers haha. Then it goes Tonto towards the end, in a crazy way. Reminded me of my brother getting my sister a job, then me, then my Mum, all in the same place

    Judas and the Black Messiah

It's kind of ironic that around the time that this film was set there was a movie that was came out called Uptight, which pretty much tells a similiar kind of story about a traitor within a black revolutionary group in the days after the assassination of MLK (although that ficticious story is actually an adaptation of a story that was originally set in Dublin during the Irish War of Independance).

But I digress... both Judas and the Black Messiah as well as Uptight are worth checking out in their own rights, and in a way, J&BM is like life imitating art. Truly tragic and depressing in many ways but also very necessary and a story deserving to be told & well worth it. Well written, acted & directed.

    Kong v Godzilla

The less said about this, the better. TBH had not intended to sit through this when went to the cinema yesterday, but social distancing rules meant that my 2 preferred options were ruled out, so it was this. The idea of doing this movie came first, then they spent probably all of 5 min coming up with a story, terrible script, lazy acting, maybe the visuals made up for it but I can't comment on that aspect, but in every other way... what... the... actual... *?

Won’t win any Oscars and Stallone looks * awful in UHD but I quite enjoyed it.

Not so much bothered by the Scottishness, as it doesn't matter what Ken Loach turns his hand to, all his films are worth checking out, and incredibly consistent. Even his last couple of movies stand up as well as anything he has been doing stretching back decades. The guy is a master of his craft.

Yes, that was Loach as well. Thr food bank scene in that is completely heart breaking. TBH, I, Daniel Blake probably the one that I have the personal resonation with, for personal reasons, as have been in a similiar situation as Daniel Blake has with bureaucracy etc because of my change of health circumstances. It was all sorted long ago now, but it took me back to that time and place.

    Sorry. We Missed You
was really good also, and will never take delivery people for granted ever again after that. To have everything that you've worked for wiped out, the glimmer of hope of a new start and new business and the reality of being shafted by that, but again, part of the subplot how it relates to the wife in that film, her experiences and work very much reminded me of my ma what she had to do back in the day while raising my brother and I.

I assume you have seen Tyrannosaur then as well? Outstanding Movie with Peter Mullen and Olivia Coleman, directed and written by Paddy Considine.

    10/10 for acting.

Its up there with Dead Mans Shoes...If not better.

Honestly outstanding dark gritty movie, disturbing to watch at times. Peter Mullen again playing a dark drunk with issues, but Olivia Coleman is utterly fantastic in this.

    Well worth a watch.

Great watch this. Thanks. Never heard of it before. Damian Dempsey song capped it all off for me. Brilliant performances as you said. Hard hitting stuff.
