We are talking about Fernando Torres, not Joey Barton :giggle1:

The technique has never left him, his body just doesn’t let him do what he used to.

    Roy Keane, Ljungberg, Juninho, Gravesen.

All varying levels of success but all had the same comment attached to them. Class players generally don't come to Scotland and do what Joey Barton thought he would do. It clearly isn't as easy as that.

Did we not try and sign Torres years ago under O’Neil but couldn’t register him or something like that?

I’m going back about 16/17 years here...

No, there's some story of Tommy Burns trying to bring him to Celtic Park a a teenager, but the dates don't even add up.

Roy Keane barely played, put in a couple of Roy Keane performances though. One being against Rangers.

Ljungberg barely played. I didn’t like that signing, his speed was gone. Didn’t think he had anything to offer us as he’d been done for years and probably lost that passion for football while in the MLS.

Juninho just didn’t work out. He was trying to break into a team that already had establish centre mids. He wasn’t happy.

Gravesen isn’t on the same level. We got what I expected out of him. Don’t let the Real Madrid transfer fool you.

I’m not going to claim Torres is anywhere near what he was, but I’d love to see him in a Celtic kit. Am I dreaming a little? Yes. But whether he flops or not, the 16 year old me that watched him at Liverpool wants to see it.

My entire point wasn't related to how those players done in a Celtic strip, the comparison is the volume of people that said those 4 would come up here and destroy the League in a wheelchair....

He'll go to the MLS or stay in Spain

If you seriously think Keane, Ljungberg and Gravesen would walk it up here at that point in their career you’re wrong. Thankfully I never did.

Torres was one of my favourite players at a time when all I wanted to do was play football. So now seeing him in a Celtic kit now would be amazing, no matter how much I believe it isn’t the right fit or isn’t going to happen.

That doesn’t make me one of those people.

You literally said in this very thread that Torres would destroy this league in a wheelchair :56:

Probably the best striker in the world first season at Liverpool, he's finished now though

    I know that :giggle1:
So what does Gravesen, Juninho, Keane and Ljungberg have to do with anything?
If I’m a Torres fan, would like to see Torres here and 16 year old me thinks he could walk this league. Is it a fantasy? Most likely. Not understanding your point at all.

At one time I thought he was the best centre forward in the world. But now.............no thanks.
