We have a fabulous shot at making it to the Group Stages this year.

Eliminating Astana will guarantee us at minimum entry direct to the Europa Group Stages (and even in the unlikely event of a loss at home, we would be in the EL Play-Off)

But I'm not even thinking that way - we got this tricky away leg over and we have enough quality to beat them at home, let alone them facing the reverse trip with a game beginning after midnight on their body clocks and ending at almost 3 in the morning.

Then with some bodies coming back into health & fitness (Erik & Kolo) & maybe one or two more quality coming in, none of those teams we can face in the CL Play-Offs should hold any real concerns for us.

Another positive about today's result is that Astana are half way in to their season and shakhter Karagandy also postponed their match against Astana at the weekend to all them to better prepare so they've had a good rest as well.

Keeping possession really helped us control our - away in Europe - form.

Looking forward to seeing a stronger defence at home.

Pleased with the result but it again showed how badly we need quality in the middle of the park. When Bitton came on he was a class above. If we had another player like that (and a fully fit defence) we would destroy teams like Astana, instead of scrapping through happy with a draw.

Football really is a funny old game. 30 mins looks at the comments all sack the board this is * blah blah, then 1 goal changes the whole outlook, Rodgers is a tactical genius

Bitton did look comfortable when he came on. Looks like he could be back.

McGregor didn't have his best game but I'd still play him. McGregor Brown Bitton.

Don't know about Allan yet. Always been a favourite but he needs a run of games to see if he can cut it. Hope to see more of him in the league.

that away goal is priceless now they cant play ten men along the 18 yard line ..... if they do well we just string ten men along the half way line .... sorted.

Is it gona happen again when Bitton is only interested in the 1st half of the season ? ironically when we (may) have European football? ... or am I being a * lol steadied the midfield when he came on 2night ! ... need that consistency

Haven't celebrated a goal that hard since Rogic's against Killie.

Griffiths and Bitton almost hit with a bottle after Griffiths scored.
