He's scored 10 in the serie A and 10 in the prem in a season.

Dont see why he couldn't double that.

Don't think he is anything like Sinclair.

Is this the same Borini people have been watching.

'Score for fun up here' as well. Come on. He hasn't been a regular goalscorer his entire career but because he plays in England he'll come up here transform into a 25 goal a season striker?

Nah. Also, as I have said before in here, he has fallen out with Rodgers since their days at Liverpool and has been coming out saying how much he is looking forward to working with Moyes. Little in this, I feel.

Changed the prefix to "no link".

Fabio Borini linked again in media in Italy who are about as reliable as a sevco cheque!

Easy link to bring up but tbh I wouldn't be averse to Brendan signing him! Brendan seems to have a mystical power over players and if he is good enough for Brendan then he is good enough for me

I'd take him if he was around the same price as Sinclair.

With Sunderland almost certain to be relegated at the end of the season, Fabio Borini could be starting the next chapter of his career elsewhere. Celtic's new head of recruiting Lee Congerton is interested in signing the Italian striker after previously having him at Sunderland as well as in Chelsea's youth system. It also appears that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is interested in being reunited with the player. Borini is looking for a fresh start after a season in which he scored one goal in seventeen matches, Celtic could be his next destination.

He is always going to get linked.

I would 100% take him as 2/3rd choice with Dembele 1st choice then Borini and Griffiths as back up but I would take him as our number 1 striker if we lost Dembele.

The good thing about him is he can play in a few positions across the front 3/4

Still haven't really changed my stance much on this.

Then again, I had doubts over Sinclair at first so who knows what Rodgers could do with Borini with regular game time in an attacking side.

However, as I said there, apparently he fell out with Rodgers. Also, I'd only take him for maximum the same amount as we paid for Scott, preferably less. Which I don't think is possible.

He had a good loan spell at Roma. Think he definitely has ability.

If Dembele and Griff are both here, it'd be a pointless signing. Don't think he'd improve us in such a way that would make paying £4 million + a smart investment. We have other areas that require more immediate attention.

6 year ago now, when he was 21.

As I say, I'd be wary of spending a decent amount on him. I think for the money and wage we could probably do better on the continent.

I'm fine with Rodgers going to England if a bargain can be had but deals like the one for Sinclair are few and far between. Think it was you who posted that as well only yesterday.

The best value is still to be had elsewhere.

Sinclair had done * all in 4 years when we signed him, to be fair.

But I agree with the rest of what you're saying, and what @CalgaryBhoy said. We have more pressing matters.

He'd cost nowhere near £4m. Sinclair was performing better for Villa and we got him for £3.5m.

Bring in him for sub-£2m with a pay cut if he wants CL football. Then sign a young winger like Onyekuru to compete with him for a starting XI spot. That way we have 4 good wingers with Sinclair, Forrest, Onyekuru and Borini, and 3 strikers with Dembele, Griff and Borini. Could also put him in the hole if we're suffering with alot of injuries. Experienced and can play all across the front line, i'd be all for it.

As you say mate its all about the cash. If you are talking £2-3 million I would take the gamble. If you are talking £5+ million i would definetly pass.

I think Borini has done well where he has substantial game time.

Borini will cost a lot more than 2 million, Sunderland bought him for about 10 mil they aint suddenly gonna decide to sell him for 2 million!

Anyhow this guy isn't someone Id want to bring in, wages would be too much and transfer fee would be too much, while I think he is a good player we can buy someone similar for less with the correct scouting.

I don't think you can judge it on what we paid for Sinclair..

Sinclair was almost a one off..

Plus they aren't even the same type of player.

Sinclair is a proper inside forward that can create and score.

Borini is a journeyman forward who isn't a proper striker, and isn't quite a winger or a midfielder.

Just one of these guys that runs about like * all over the place and doesn't produce much - almost similar to Kenny Miller during his time in Engerlund.

Aye, as much as I think he would do well here due to his pace and directness.... He definitely is a player that's caught between positions and doesn't standout in either..

Sinclair is definitely a better finisher. More clever in his movement and much better technically..

We CAN do better, no doubt..

We already have two strikers who are able to drop that little bit deeper, or run off the shoulder into channels.

As much as Dembele is more the physical type forward than Griffiths is, I'm still absolutely desperate to have a big bruiser of a CF in our ranks - a possible plan B type guy in the mould of a Sutton et al.
