THought about it, and it has to be Sweden, because of Henk and Poland because of big Artur Boruc. I hope JVOH has a good tournament, but I cant support Holland as they wear Orange and King Billy was from there. Plus that season when Advocaat was at Rangers and all the huns wore orange for the Scottish cup final, to 'support their dutch players'.......pish. But it still brings back bad memories. So Poland and Sweden for me.

Portugal have got quite bad strikers man....who is it Hugo Almedia or something....there going to heavy rely on Ronaldo in this tournament i think and he wont pull it out the bag in the big games just like he didnt against Barcelona in both games of the champs league. :97:

He did it in the Champs league final and did it against Arsenal and Liverpool, didn't do it against Barca but that was one game. Portugal got to the semi's of the world cup and are an improving team, the only decent team they'll need to beat to get to the final is Germany.

They don't have a great striker but didn't at the World Cup or Euro 2004 and did well, anyway we shall see.

yeah im not writing them off im just saying they dont have an out and out defence frightening strikers so it will be down to Quaresma on the LW and mostly Ronaldo on the RW to create things for them. Spain vs Portugal would be quality man especially if it was the semi's or that. :50:

The way the draw works it'd be the final, I've got it down as being Portugal/Germany vs Spain/France.

Finals just as good lol.....they would be good semi finals though and could happen quite realisticly :50:

France would probably do Spain again but just like they done at the World Cup 2006 where Villa scored the penalty then they went on and won 3-1....Hopefully Spain can do it this time around

    You´ll Never Walk Alone.
I´m portuguese and I don´t see us doing anything special this year round.
We NEVER had a top striker, but that didn´t stop us from reaching the Euro2004 final and the World Cup 2006 semis, right?

I just think this team has a lot of inconsistant players:
-Quaresma (can get past about 5 players at one go and still loose 14 balls during a match),
-Bosingwa (lightning quick RB but isn´t that bright -to say the least- has poor judgment),
-Bruno Alves (modern day version of Vinnie Jones meets a drunk Colin Hendry)
-Nuno Gomes (a benfica -aka "the pigs"- striker that would have trouble securing a place at Gretna´s first team)
    - Petit (good reliable centre defensive midfield, but had a miserable season and completely lacks form)

Also, Ricardo is starting on goal and he hasn´t played a lot this season.
And then there is the Ronaldo factor. When things start to go wrong we will play just to give him the ball and hope he solves everything, but that´s not football. And with the long season he had... can´t see him pull off anything significant.

I think it will all come down to my main man: Portugal´s nº 10 and Sporting´s captain at 21 years: João Moutinho. He and Deco will rule the miedfield and it will be due to both of them if we manage to do anything worth while.

I think France or Germany will win it. Spain should be able to do it, if they can produce something after being 1-0 down at the knock-out stages - and that would be the first time in their life.

i want to see the teams with celtic players do well but apart from that croatia as i pick them out the hat to win the tournament as all the guys at work put money on randomised teams from a kind of lucky dip draw

The Celtic Song so long as Dean Park doesn't sing it.
Croatia - fancy them as an outside bet and may surprise.
