Need another quality CB anyway. Boyata Tierney and Lustig can fill in.

Wouldn't mind selling him. I liked his passion, I felt he 'got' the club but I've never been overly convinced by him as a player.

If we can get a decent fee and put it towards a partner for big Jozo then great.

He is a very good defender when he is on his game. Scored twice vs Sevco with great headers and can ping a long shot too, passing is decent enough as well. I feel his height goes against him a bit, which is a shame (Not his fault). I can still remember his last ditch tackle on Aguero at home last season, that was a World Class tackle as Aguero was about to pull the trigger 1v1 with Gordon and would have most likely scored it, Erik also made a crucial block that game from another Aguero chance with his header that looked like it was going in. So Erik handled Aguero really well that night I felt which was very impressive as Aguero is one of the worlds best strikers.

That being said, since January his standards have dropped and he hasn't been able to recover, the constant fouling holding/grappling onto opponents shirts for too long and given away silly fouls has been infuriating to watch.

It's a shame but he's too good a player for the bench so I can understand if he wants to leave due to lack of game time.

Does anyone know Copenhagen's record transfer fee that they've paid?

None of those are good options imo, KT is a brilliant LB and possibly an ok centre half. Keep him where he is at his best.
Ajer has potential but is still unproven - Rogers preferred Bitton to him remember for Astana.
Bitton definitely CANT play CH - he came v.close to losing the ball 4-5 times in 10mins across his own 18 yard box yesterday.
In CL group games he will be exposed badly.

We don't need the money at £3M
We are unbelievably short of natural centre halves already
    Why would we sell?

We would sell Sviatchenko because he lacks pace and recovery powers and he would be badly exposed in the Champions League never mind Bitton.

Any more word on Caulker ?.

To bring in a centre half that Brendan wants. Sviatchenko is clearly not happy with been on the bench. Unless he gets his form back, Boyata will be starting along side Jozo when he is available.

We could use the money from the sale of Erik to fund a centre half that is going to be a first pick for partnering Jozo.

I like Sviatchenko, he is a good player on his day but I'm not happy that as soon as he is out of the team, deservedly so may I add, that he is wanting out the door. He was clearly going through a bad spell of form, Brendan didn't drop him when he was playing well. I could understand why he would be annoyed then but that has not been the case.

Well BR obviously wants to develop the KT-Ajer partnership as he's played them together a few times now.. so I'll bow down to his judgement.. and Ajer looks pretty solid there so far..

I was unconvinced by Bitton and at CB too but he was excellent there v Astana..

I only want us to add if it's better than we've got, one real quality CB to partner Simunovic in the big games. With Boyata, Ajer, Bitton and KT as covering options. I could absolutely live with that..

If Erik wants to stay he needs to realise he needs to fight for his place and I don't think he's been willing to do that.. Boyata has shown much more desire to his credit..

Wouldn't be bothered if we punted him..

I'd be looking at two centre halfs if we punt him. That South African boy, or a prospect like him, and someone experienced to slot straight in.

IMO, Rodgers doesn't think he is big enough or fast enough to play in his side, in addition to the fact that his distribution ain't great.

Looking at Ajer, he is near enough Rodgers' ideal type of CB. We should have no qualms about giving him a lot of game time in the SPL this season, IMO. None at all.

    He isnt the answer anyway.

No offence but signing a guy from a side 9th in the South African league to bolster our CL squad wouldn't be good enough.

Only way I'd want him in is if he replaced Erik alongwith another, more experienced CB.

If we want a player we're not going to pull out because of a hamstring injury.

Doubt we significantly interested in him, anyway. Not the quality we need..

I'd be really suprised if he went to Copenhagen. Not a step up in any way shape or form

He doesn't have the heart to play for Celtic, why would he be looking for a step up?
