Obviously Should never have started. Lenny took a massive risk> he also Took a massive risk playing so attacking, which on another day would have seen us win 4-0. Ambrose played his heart out and was clearly desperate to play. He just couldn't do it unfortunately. Immensely proud of all. Im hoping though this does not shatter a good players celtic future.

Ambrose is still quality, but being awake for presumably 30_ hours, jet lagged to * is going to make anyone concentration and judgment *.

The responsibility ultimately lies with Lennon for starting him, but surely Ambrose must have known himself that he was not fully fit? Surely he * realized the importance of the occasion?

Everything else aside, he * up big time tonight and has now effectively ended the tie. Should have been taken off at half time, at least, with Charlie moving to CB. * gutted.

Crazy that he started when we had Matthews, Kayal and Ledley on the bench. All more gifted players - far more important to this team. Did Neil get deluded by Nigeria's success in the ACN's or something? Ambrose has never been an indispensable player for us.

Makes no sense. Would've made as much sense as Samaras playing, which is to say, none.

Our best central defensive pair is Mulgrew and Rogne/Wilson, then Wanyama, Kayal and Ledley in the midfield. Play it when it's available, Neil!

We should get behind him i'm sure he's sick about how things went tonight but he's still a very good player. As well as we played we still did'nt have to many clear cut chances and they were that bit more street wise than us and it showed in the end.

I haven't rated him since he' signed. Positionally naive, prone to getting caught under the ball, caught in possession too often and utterly shocking at directing the ball with his head.

He shouldnt have played today. I blame lenny for making the choice and not subbing him.

He was trying. It's not his fault he was put in the starting lineup.

    Same... this is nothing new

He played lousy against Spartak, was torched one-on-one numerous times

He obviously slept on the plane.

It was a 12 hour flight and he landed at 9am this morning, SA is two hours ahead of us so jet lag isn't the problem.

the problem was he hasn't been training with the team and working on formations and set plays and where he and his felloow defenders should be.

It boils down to the same thing though, he should not have started.

Tonight was not a night to judge his talent. The lad has played a ridiculous amount of games in the last fortnight, just got home from Africa, and stuck in against Juventus.

    Agreed.
Ambrose can be a total * bombscare the best of times. This shambles tonight may well have ended his Celtic career.

we had better options in my opinion, he shouldn't have been anywhere near the squad.

He could have been honest and told Lennon he didn't feel he was ready to be thrown right back in like he was.

Lennon should never have picked him, but a certain amount of honesty from the player wouldn't have gone amiss either.

He never looked fit enough from the first whistle.
