    Exclusive: Celtic targeting Michut
    Celtic are targeting a deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut.

    One source has told Sky Sports News that the Scottish club are preparing an offer in the region of £2m (€2.5m) for the 19-year-old.

    Michut is a France U19 midfielder who has been impressing in PSG’s academy – but he has also played six times for PSG in Ligue 1 and twice in the Coupe de France.

    He was in and around the first-team squad last season and also scored twice in eight appearances in the UEFA youth league.

    Reports in France at the end of the season claimed he has become frustrated at the lack of a pathway into the first team at the Parc des Princes and is looking to leave this summer.

    He's an attacking midfielder, so I'm guessing he'd be signed to play back up to Hatate, O'Riley and Turnbull. So it isn't an exciting signing as such, but will give us so much cover there.

    No idea how good he is but as far as priority signings go, another CM isn’t top of the list.

    Wouldn’t say no to him but we desperately need a CDM.

    Agreed.

    Between the likes of McGregor, Ideguchi, Hatate, O'Riley and Turnbull and I guess even McCarthy where does another central midfielder fit if they aren't specifically a CDM style player.

    Tough one but I'd be wanting to give this one a miss as other positions are needing filling first even though this lad seems like a bargin and is well thought of.

    I think we need another no8/10 as well as a DM and if we are to sign one, would need to be more of a project type.

    We shouldn't be giving a highly rated French youth International for £2m a miss because of James Maccarthy and Ideguchi being in the squad.

    I don't see either of them playing many games and neither are the same kind of midfielder as this lad either.

    This is well worth a punt and as much as he wants first team football he won't expect 60 games a season.

    Looks to have far more potential and pedigree than the boy from Bayern we were linked with..

    As mentioned above....we have a lot of player's for the two position's in the 8, so doesn't surprise me we've gone for someone who's younger and won't rock the boat too much at no being a guaranteed starter for a while..

    Would seem like the Rogic type replacement, although naturally won't be at his level just now obviously. Seems mobile enough and with a good range of passing, movement and pockets taken up......like the clips where he gets stuck in....sort of reminds me of Billy Gilmour a touch with how he tackles..

    The price seems extremely low, is his contract running out soon?

    This guy looks a very, very special talent troops. If we have the opportunity to land a guy like this it would be something else. The PSG fans rate him highly and even though he isn’t a full on DM , he would add smashing tackles in the middle of the park. Please let this happen!
