By all accounts it could be happening. But it might not.

I personally think it’s the way fitbaw is nowadays with agents and all that advising them
“ step1 “ don’t dive in and show that you are to keen always hold out for a bit more cash

step 2 “ let them know a few other clubs are after you aswell letting them think if they get you howe lucky they will be

Definitely think he will be the manager buts it’s aw daft wee mind games

Wouldn't agree with Feyenoord being mentioned with the others. Decent team but hardly outstanding. Again, we'd struggle to beat them as we've been pish. They've faced 2 teams from the top 5 leagues in the last 4 European campaigns - Bayern Leverkusen beat them home and away and Villarreal drew with them home and away.

Like I said fair * for getting results where we wouldn't but they've had some amount of luck along the way. They've dodged some real big hitters.

I think the board downplayed them. We all knew what was going to happen if we didn't progress on and off the field.

Completely agree that them as a unit is hard to break down but individually they're honking (apart from McGregor). None of them will be sold for more than £10m bar one or two. The vast majority won't go for profit.

They only won the league because of us. No pressure from us whatsoever and I still believe they would've crumbled if we were to actually perform and they didn't have huge scoops of luck and the refs in their pocket (I see hibs had a goal chalked off today for * all).

That last point is why we need to win the Scottish Cup. Have them thinking even at the absolute best they can be, they are still incapable of doing it when the pressures on

Unfortunately for us the EPL is the big lure for most managers out there and, at this moment in time, there are a few teams in the EPL who are currently struggling and will be on the look out for a new manager i.e. Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Sheffield Utd and, who knows, maybe even Spurs. Howe, I reckon, would much rather ply his trade in the mega bucks league that is the EPL than come up here. The only thing we could realistically tempt him with would be the opportunity to compete in European football however, would our board enable him to have a fair crack at it by providing him with the necessary funding to do so?

Sheffield United won’t be in the epl

Howe is at a point now where he decides what type of coach he wants to be. He comes with fairly high stock (similar to BR) currently. He can join us, win a few trophies, make us far more consistent in Europe and have a healthy squad, integrating youth as much as he can. He would then be able to join a higher end club in the EPL in 4 years or so.

The alternative is join a Palace, Newcastle type club and forever be that guy who hovered about relegation area, with the odd good season up mid table not winning any silverware.

But Celtic need for their own and fans sake a choice now. We're 7 weeks after Lennon and preseason will be here before we know it. Hope Doms arrival will be the kick start of appointments.

He might fancy the chance of taking them up to the EPL in the same way he did with Bournemouth and will also be able to access the megabucks parachute payments Sheffield will get

Honestly if a manager chose that above us I would probably be glad they didn't come to us.

Don't expect any announcement on Howe until McKay is in the door next week. Hopefully then we will see the Howe/Hughes combo revealed and we can look forward to the summer rebuild.

Scottish cup win for John Tennedy would be a nice bonus too :50:

Holding out or using us to get an epl job and then choosing Sheffield United would make me glad we never got him as it shows a clear lack of ambition and no confidence in his abilities if he feels that getting a club promotion from the championship is better for his cv than winning trophies and pushing himself in Europe....would prove the point that loads of money means more than success and enough money to give you a comfortable life

I don’t see it being a canter but I would love that to be the case if I’m honest, also my point still stands if we had the season they are currently having we would be buzzing.
