Eddie Howe - is he the new man?

I hope he is the man, my only concern is his family either unwilling to relocate or failing to settle in Scotland. This would hasten his departure and leave us back to square one in 12/18 months time.

Realistic that's all. I really want him as manager, I'm genuinely excited by the work he will do if given the job. What I said is a concern but I'd rather have him in and building something for a year or two than going for someone like Keane.

I was only baming you up pal. I agree it could be an issue but I’m sure if it is him we can get a good 2/3 years out of it.

 

Hope so, would like him to finish what he starts and not leave and have DD and * like Bankier going down the cheap route again and it all * up.

Not as big a problem if we get in a good director of football who can provide a bit of consistency. It does become an issue though if we bring in Howe's guy as the DoF as he could leave with him, bit backwards thinking from us (surprise surprise)

Yea I know that, just can't trust some of our boards members to do what's needed. Too reactive when they should be proactive. Needs a longer term view than dividends and share prices.

 

I'll take another 4 trebles for one year of * after it. If that's the cycle, then sign me up.

 

Eddie howe in and Peter Grant as his number 2, John Kennedy to stay as well.

 

I dont want to say an ITK source because everyone has one, but someone I trust who is involved in the charity board and charity planning side of things at celtic.

I’d rather Howe came in at the end of the season but if he’s raring to go then I wouldn’t hold him back either.

I don’t think being involved for the remaining games is hugely beneficial. Some will say it’s a good chance to assess the squad but we know there is going to be a huge overhaul in the summer anyway. Only a few of the current players will remain.

 

The guys who will be staying though, he’ll know exactly what he wants to do with them and players he could bring in to compliment and enhance what’s there. There’s no downsides to letting him come in and get settled as early as possible.
