So the rumours have been around for quite some time now long before the past month or two.
But the past week more and more rumours are starting to reach s point it would seem he is one of the few men we probably have contacted.

Last week/weekend was the strong rumours that he was taking over this week, with Wednesday being Lennon's last game.

Alas, that looks to have been slightly off the mark.
But still, some bookies seem to have slashed the odds drastically, or just stopped taking the bet completely.

Doesn't mean they know anything, generally they go on how many vets and the value getting lumped on s guy. But someone's got a feeling somewhere.

    On to the real talk though;
Is Eddie Howe the right kind of manager to take us forward?

I think so. I think we could aim higher, but I think Eddie Howe is s good shout here. It feels like there is about to be a real shake up at the club, time will tell how good a shake up it is.
Howe coming in brings respect and automatically a much more professional approach to the club. Is he same level as Rodgers? I'm not sure, but his experience down south in the ultra modern football approach they take, he will certainly change things back in to a Rodgers direction.

He will surely get more out the core squad and be happy to look to the fringe players to find new talent as well as understanding we work to a budget.

He would have a real chance of some silverwear and chance to make a mark on Europe. He's well respected down south, but he's not s winner yet to get the higher jobs in the EPL.
This sort of gig could help him in that respect.

    Thoughts?

    Not a welcome thread.....yet....

Probably not mate. It'll probably be Paul Hartley with Stephen Pressley as director of football.

Bookies stopped taking bets on him got a message saying he had agreed terms but the only people that know are not going to tell us beforehand. Will be be a good fit time will tell, we need someone who can come in higher up the chain to help with the changes that need to be out in place to get us back to winning ways by getting the right players for the manager

Think maybe he would have been in by now if interested.

I had never heard of Eddie Howe until last week.

Seems highly rated by plenty on here though.

Mind you, I'd never heard of Laxalt or Duffy either and they were highly rated by... er... hang on!

Can’t see Lawwell being that ambitious. He will blame Covid and we must live within our means which means giving Kennedy a go or bringing a “Celtic Man” in on the cheap.

I agree he is the correct candidate but the board don’t want to match my entitled ambition

To be fair to Howe, I think more folk know what he looks like at least, compared to laxalt and Duffy.

He 100% would be a great fit for us i believe.

Unfortunately the board will not sanction this.

    Will be another cheap option.

He can only be a success with a total revamp of our structure tho. If there's any merit in it at all.

Jason Tindall is in charge of Bournemouth, doubt he would leave there to come back and be Howes number 2.

100% yes for Howe, a manager who was a great successes at a club who were/are tiny, built them into an established premier league team for a few years playing great football and completely modernised the club, exactly what we need. I want Howe to come in and * rip this club apart, get rid of any coach/analyst/recruitment staff member that isn't up to task and get them replaced with people that are, hopefully in the board Desmond stops stroking his * with that tash and * gets a grip of the bunch of * that have been running us for the last few years and sends them on there way and gets people in who have ambitions to get us back into the champions league and beyond.

The transition starts here with this man, get him in and back him to the hills, no more * penny pinching over a few hundred thousand that means we miss out on McGinn, Doughty, Fletcher, McCarthy ect, back the manager and get this club * going again.

He'd be good and would take us up at least one level...my only worries would be whether he has the mentality and interest in dealing with the pressure and hysteria . Would take any decent modern coach though...

Especially when Bournemouth are sitting in the playoff positions.

No chance Tindall is leaving that to be assistant here.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we get him, he would be taking a similar route to what Rodgers did. He could take the Newcastle gig sure, but they're not in much better state than we are imo.

I don't know of him, first seen him mentioned on here....so not sure if he'd be good or not.

I didn't know anything about Shane Duffy other than he was an Irish defender....after all the hype on here, I thought " brilliant, he'll be great" that worked out well.

He'd still take them over us as he'd be in the EPL..

Also got Fraser and Wilson who he coached already there..
