Does it hold effect if what is covered by the agreement is illegal?

It’s really just further confirmation of what we all know.

We will never progress as a football club with the current parasites that run us.

The short term attitude of the fans mean they get away with whatever they like.

People for whatever bizarre reason, use a newly formed side from Govan as our benchmark for everything. Tinpot.

He'll be under an NDA most likely, but aye just speak out anyway to satisfy fans curiosity and * his own reputation, nevermind any legal ramifications, what firm would ever hire him again if he's happily breaching contracts.

Appreciate the sentiment mate, I really do, but it’s an unrealistic expectation.

Resigning is huge, he’s just walked away from millions of pounds over the next few years.

He’s not going to risk his entire wealth and career just because the Celtic support can’t take a hint.

If he came out and said anything half the support would just say he’s bitter anyway.

It’s up to us to mobilise and do something, but we won’t and frankly it’s because we think turning up to matches makes us the super bestest support in the world and that’s all we need to do.

I'm not saying he's making specific calls like that, but surely he has a big say on how the board operate overall i.e. we don't give out European tickets for free.

Didn't know that about the letter, and I'm not blaming the GB for him leaving, it's all speculation on my part - but the job he stepped into is a totally different environment to Scottish rugby. Maybe he got spooked at the pressure from fans and didn't feel he had enough clout in the boardroom to keep them on his side?

I don't see how that's strange at all.

To the best of my knowledge, a reluctance to modernise the club structure or to sign more first team players would not be classified as illegal

We’re talking about Celtic football club here not an investment bank or some corporate money laundering operation.

If he didn’t have enough clout to keep the support (customers) on side then that’s the boards fault, not the fault of the support.

Despite popular opinion the Celtic support are extremely reasonable and unbelievably supportive as a football support.

He’s not been spooked at all.

I wouldn't rule out money being siphoned out of the club.

It’s important not to muddle the situation mate.

There’s no suggestion of illegality and there doesn’t need to be.

There’s abysmally poor management and that’s the problem that should be sorted. It’s no longer speculation, so let’s get it sorted.

I agree. I never said it was the fault of the support.

    Yep.

I fully believe Lawwell would publicly be back as CEO today, had we beaten Sevco two weeks ago.

They’ll now hold off until we’re top of the league.

I don’t feel there is really the sense of anger there should be around this announcement, at least on Twitter anyway. To me this is beyond November protest levels of bad, it’s clear the rot is so deeply ingrained in the club atm that only a change of ownership will affect it

    Absolutely spot on.

This is massive and no one cares. It’s so disappointing.

In hindsight, Dominic McKay must wish he’d accepted that offer of help on the end of a phone. Peter Lawwell had a readymade crisis line on the nuts and bolts of running Celtic. And his successor chose not to call it.

“Inexperienced in the world of football transfers and rebuilding a football club, that was his first mistake. Regrettably, it wouldn’t be his last.

“Last night, the former chief operating officer of the Scottish Rugby Union paid a heavy price for his determination to go it alone when he lost the confidence of major shareholder Dermot Desmond… and jumped before he was pushed

“McKay expressed a desire to modernise and upgrade the club’s operations. He set out to be his own man. Plucked from the world of professional rugby, he knew nothing about football transfers — and he showed no inclination to accept a helping hand from those who did.”

“His ideas were incompatible with the major shareholder and the board of directors. While he felt ready for Celtic, Celtic simply weren’t ready for him. It’s unclear what this means for the modernisation of the club.”

Ironically, I think his transfer dealings were better and more professional than that of PL.......

    John McGinn, anyone?????
