Little point speculating on what the personal reasons could be. Some of the * on here is out of order in my book. Hope the guy and his family are well.

The statement is pretty cold and blunt IMO.

 

If Postecoglou was McKay’s man, he wouldn’t have taken three months turn to.

Postecoglou has links to the City Group. He’s clearly the PLC’s man.

 

All the best to him and hope whatever his situation is resolves quickly.

Just think he would probably get more privacy if the club came out and said, health reasons and asked for privacy..

But, like you say it is absolutely his perogative and there may be people he would want to tell beforehand too...

Strange one. * off we wouldn't do many transfers we wanted? Board wouldn't allow spending to the levels he wanted? Strange. Hopefully its not actual health related, but surely they would have just stated "health reasons" and not personal.

Very surprising news. Also comes right after WGS was cleared to work with us for 3 months.

Wonder if people knew he was stepping down and wanted Strachan in while a new CEO is being appointed.

Won't speculate on health issues as it wasn't given in any official statement.

 

I could 100% believe the Lawwell story all the evidence is there this transfer window was no different to any other we were still scrambling on deadline day to make signings and holding on to the done deals til the last minute. I also don't buy the notion that Ange was Dom's man due to rugby trips to Japan he had previously he would 100% have been the boards choice imo a cheaper manager who came out of nowhere when the Howe linked died with a clear connection to the City group.

Which is why I'm not convinced it has anything to do with his health. Surely if he was dealing with personal issues the statement could be a lot warmer while still respecting his privacy.

Wasn't the collapse of the Howe deal put down to similar ambiguous personal issues.

I have a horrible feeling that snake Lawwell still has enormous influence at the club even if not in an 'official' capacity.

 

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised.

The worst thing is is that we try dress ourselves as professionals when we're really run by amateurs.

 

Hopefully he and his family are ok, I'm definitely abit gutted tbh was genuinely looking forward to things changing in the boardroom with him around and he also seemed to have had a good relationship with ange.
The worry now is we dont see any development or restructuring of the club like dom had envisioned and end up with the status quo.

 

Completely forgot about that.
