Deila got lucky after Legia. He didn't learn. He didn't learn after Malmo or Molde away. There comes a point where you should learn from mistakes or bad luck - Ronny didn't learn. He stuck to his system, stubbornness prevailed and this is the result.

Bad luck has nothing to do with it; he hasn't developed the squad or his management style over the last two years sadly.

Ronny had more lives than a cat.
The bus finally ran over him on Sunday.

The simple answer is no. We were 1/100 to win the league with some bookies and Deila took until April last year to clinch it and this year it will be May (assuming he doesn't balls it up). A decent manager would have had us out of sight by January both years.

The ICT semi was the only real bad luck and even then, we shouldn't be relying on luck against teams like that.

If Deila didn't want Collins as his AM then he should have had balls enough to say so. I don't think players have been foisted on him (except perhaps some of the loan signings).

The football has been dreadful at least 75% of the time and if it weren't for Leigh Griffiths, Aberdeen would be winning the SPL.

Deila is simply out of his depth tactically - he just hasn't got a clue. Keeps repeating the same failing tactics - "tempo" "press high" - bollox!!

He persists with a crap formation and picks out of form players while talent like Allan and Christie waste away on the bench or in the reserves.

I don't agree with the personal abuse aimed at him here - he's not up to the job but the board should have acted long ago (after Malmo). Again - their failure to issue a statement saying he'll go by mutual consent at the end of the season mystifies and angers me. I think they'll regret that because the fans quite rightly want answers and will protest in some form if they don't get them.

Deila hasn't been unlucky - he simply isn't good enough and he must go. However, the board should have had the balls to admit that their "project" wasn't working and taken action long ago.

Thanks to them, we've lost a lot of European revenue and the distance between us and Sevco is much smaller than it should be. Deila has been an expensive mistake but its unfair to blame him alone - there are others just as culpable.

He has been unlucky....but also stupid, iv been saying for long enough...if he refuses to drop players that are not trying or out of form he deserves all he gets.

If you are going to select players who are continually letting you down, or are well known for making mistakes, then you are asking for trouble. More than once he has been let down massively by Ambrose. Fenerbahce and Ross County are the two that spring to mind. However, it wasn't as if the mistakes come out of nowhere. Deila got it wrong by opting to play him on both occasions. Johansen is another player who has let him down for the majority of the season, but has been picked more often than not. Since returning from injury, Brown has been utter garbage, but hasn't been dropped. Not so long ago it was Armstrong in the same boat. Boyata playing on Sunday with Sviatchenko on the bench was madness as well. Team selection is Deila's biggest weakness in my opinion.

I don't think he has the respect of all the first team players either, and for me, it goes back to the Commons debacle. Something that has been hanging over his head since day one. If he wasn't part of his plans, he should have been sold. I said that right back at the start. However, it was allowed to drag on, and then it all come to a head away in Molde. Then he picks Commons to start the next game. That showed signs of a weak manager.

100% agree with that. The board, and Lawwell in particular have actually come out of this looking worse than Deila imo. An unwillingness to act and a general lack of transparency/clarity (we're finding out about his apparent departure through vague reports from Norway ffs) is a lot tougher to forgive than just not being up to the task.

nah its not about him being unlucky

there seems to be so much he has got wrong

what is obvious and has been obvious for most of the season is that the players aren't enjoying their football, everyone one of us loves football and ofcourse the players do, so if they aren't playing with smiles on their face then something is seriously wrong, yet we drift along the whole season and it doesn't improve.

what a would say is that in ronnie's 2nd season he had to do without our 2 best players in vvd and denayer, quick intelligent strong centre backs...... A MASSIVE LOSS for us all, having them 2 playing meant we could push high up the park onto the opposing team with some confidence that any trouble and vvd and denayer would sort it
