Kayal's wasn't simulation until he started hobbling around on the sidelines. Was a definate free kick and yellow card though.

 

Every player dives. Commons goes to ground easily every week, he was last night in the first half as well. It just gets more coverage when a goal comes from it or it's outrageously bad. If diving is to be banned, it has to be looked at in every area of the pitch, not just the final 3rd. So often you see a players go down easily in their own half to relieve the pressure on their defence, but they're very rarely commented on.

 

IMO, there's a thin line between diving and going down easy. Diving is going down without any contact or such less contact that it's not significant (ex: jumping for header and brushing your hand against opponent's head, opponent's boot brushing your shins but not hindering your ability to continue). Going down easy (which is perfectly fine with me) is if there's enough contact to hinder you. If an opponent's boot clips my shins and I get showed down a bit by that, I'll go down 9/10 times. Why wouldn't you? You are being put at a disadvantage trying to continue on and play advantage.

heard Suarez was at it again today. this one was meant to be outragious.

 

Just watched the highlights on MOTD and there wasn't anything about any dive from him today. Although he was moaning about a slight tug on his shirt I think it was and was calling for a pen.

Bale is getting worse though. He's not only becoming a diver but he's becoming a theatrical diver.

 

Now see this is a prime example.

Those two are highly embarrassing, especially the one where he grabs the guys hands at himself with it.

Bale, Suarez, Young, Gerrard and Rooney are by far the worse offenders.


I'd even argue the British 4 are far worse than Suarez for it.

Petrov's dive was a poor show, but Kayal was simply dodging a career threatening tackle from Fleck. Ugly * could have broken his leg flying in like that.

Think that first one is from South America and, of course, that game is highly notorious for play acting and diving. I'd go as far and say a LOT worse than anything from Portugal :icon_mrgreen:

I'm gonna say that the Boyd one is the worst one purely because how I hated that * and the team he used to play for :icon_mrgreen:

They are both cringeworthy dives and what makes it even worse for me is that the two players (more from that * Boyd) plead their cases and actually try and defend themselves.

Nothing worse than a diver who actually tries to plead his innocence

Hey just wondering about your guys opinions on this. Is diving now just a part of the game? Personally if they enforced the diving=yellow card more often I think it could be solved.

 

Unfortunately it's becoming more & more a part of the game. Players going down far too easy. The most subtle of contact and they hit the deck. I just wish that something could be done about it to cut it right down. Will never get cut out totally but would be good to reduce it all.

Ref's are supposed to show a yellow for blatant dives but not a lot of ref's do which is wrong and how some of them are conned so easily is just a joke (ie Cazorla's "penalty" on Saturday for Arsenal).

If the ref see the player dive he has to punish him with a yellow too often the ref will just wave play on and then that sends out the wrong message to the rest of the players .
In cases like Cazorla who i will use for example due to it being this weekend and a vital turning point in a game . I would give the player 1 match ban after the game if the same player keeps on doing it again make to 2 game ban then 3 and so on .
