Listened to a lot of that team he was in lately, every single one always says just how diabolically bad he was as a player in training but on the pitch one of the best especially against better teams.

Makes me appreciate just how good MON was for us, because how the * did he know he could do that? He was a shoddy striker at Hibs, shoddy in training and a world class full back for us at points.

He was a total inigma to be honest. If he had a better final ball or if he could shoot he'd have been signed up with Barca or Real Madrid. He honestly was that quick. Quicker than any player I've ever seen anyway. He relied on his speed and if he hadnt been as quick as he was he would never have made it as a pro.

His story is quite remarkable cause he came to Scotland with nothing....just looking for a trial with a club. He got one with Raith Rovers....then a move to Hibs where he scored this one wonder goal against Dundee where he beat about 6 players and scored. Then signed with us. He went from being a striker to a right back. Think he ended up at Aston Villa when Martin went down there to manage them

Didn't we get him from Hibernian for something ridiculous like 50,000?

I'd argue honestly... because of that he's the best signing celtic have ever made.

Even back then.... that fee is beyond a crime, the word bargin doesn't do it justice

I feel like his crossing was underrated..

Aye he overhit and put in shockers but he was great at making runs in behind and picking his man out/whipping them in..

He was a great signing for us..

He was more of a numbers guy, 20 crosses a game and maybe 5 were ok. And he was hitting Sutton, Hartson and Henrik.

Saying that, he had a few beauties as well, Ajax springs to mind…
