Quality player, not worth that but if Torres was 50 then he certainly is in the crazy modern market.

Madrid are mad to let him go but they do this every year. Despite not being their star man he was their best player last season, Ozil was great as well and this year they'll probably let Khedira go despite Xabi being near the end of his career and them having no replacement defensive mids good enough.

If Hamez is worth like £10 million more than that then that isn't a bad price for a proven player like Di Maria.

Couple more defenders and surely we have the start of a good team.

I'd say he was Real's best player last season, he's always been very consistent in his time at Real. I'll be glad to see the back of him.

56 million does seem ridiculous, never thought he was that spectacular.

Hope he breaks his leg on his first appearance!

Isn't modern football crazy. Still not as bad as 11m for Ross McCormick.

Not really surprised by the fee tbh. Di Maria was arguably Real Madrids best player last season, and this was when he was put into a central role in midfield to accommodate Bale. He is only 26, been excellent for 2 seasons now, especially when he wasn't diving/play acting as much and he is at his peak.

    THE STATISTICS DON'T LIE, ANGEL...
51 - Di Maria gave the ball away 51 times

4 - Just four crosses were good out of 19 tries

63 - His pass completion was at 63 per cent, the worst of any outfield player to start and the worst of any player in the tournament who has played 40 minutes or more

12 - He had 12 shots, three were on target

What was that the World Cup?

Ive always classed him as a decent player - very hardworking, good pace, decent dribbler, good stamina for lasting 90 minutes at full speed but not very intelligent and hit and miss technically, at times good at times bad, decision making not the best. Like if you combined Nani and Dirk Kuyt into the one player.

Doesnt score very much but sets up a lot of chances mostly just through non stop running and attempting rather than creativity or quality.
