The 2 CB positions are probably the area of the pitch where we are desperately lacking the most and I have very little to zero confidence in the players who currently occupy them.
I've noticed split opinion on who would ideally be our first choice partnership though, fitness permitting which is a rarity these days of course. Some people willing to give likes of Ambrose more chances and likes of Boyata more time as well as Blackett. People will obviously go for Jozo, due to the fee we payed and how dismal the other options may seem, despite only playing once so far this season. I include myself in that list of people.
So, if everyone is fit, who would your ideal CB pairing be going forward?
Included Lustig in the options as I think he could more than do a job for us there and is currently better than what we have in my opinion.

I'd go with Simunovic and Mulgrew if both are fully fit.
Boyata and Ambrose make too many mistakes for me.
I didn't think I'd prefer Mulgrew in there ahead of Boyata earlier in the season, but one thing he has is good positional sense, and can read the run of the striker. Boyata is shocking at both.
Ambrose is just Ambrose, and shouldn't be near a first team place. -

So unless the rest of our team is amazing we may struggle. -

Boyata and Jozo. Given time and a stable partner I hope Boyata will improve. Still worried about his passing. I can't consider Lustig because realistic he is to prone to injury and this is an area where we need stability.

It's going to be Boyata + A.N.Other.
Haven't seen enough of Jozo to suggest it will be him but we need to hope he's good enough for it to be. -
Can't pinpoint a pairing as yet but one thing's for sure, it SHOULD NOT be Boyata and Efe. EVER! One or the other will cost us a goal a game and that's just * ridiculous.
I think I've (we've) been patient with Boyata but he's still making bad passes and poor positional decisions. These * train every day and still can't pass a * football! Same with Izzy. Trains every day and his crossing is, generally, woeful. Lustig tae. Crossing is mostly poor. I was a better crosser of a ball at 17! Tierney has to start playing more.
Need to see what Jozo gives us. -

He played CB once before if I remember correctly and did a job, I think it would be a positive move for him individually and the team if he moved into a central defensive role, less at risk of those knocks and injury and he is a very good defender first and foremost. -

Hopefully Simunovic comes good and Boyata improves as it'll probably be these two. But I too would trust Mulgrew more than Boyata at the moment.

Any * with any * so long as efe is no were near the defence.

Even with VVD and Denayer at the back we were still vulnerable at the back in Europe. Strict adherence to a system that is just defensively flawed. No cover from midfield being the biggest problem. -

It'll be Boyata and Jozo.

I havent really seen blackett and jozo play
Mulgrew has been injured, think ambrose has the ability but needs someone to keep him alert
I think boyata is making far to many mistakes in the spl and europe and think ambrose has had to cover for him - sending off against hearts -
Lustig - Jozo - Mulgrew - Tierney
