More than good enough for the SPL and has champions league experience with man city- always thought he was poor on the ball but a good defender, I think him and van dijk could compliment each other- boyata no nonsense and van dijk the ball player. Good signing I think.

He looks a wee bit anxious with the ball at his feet. Seems to want to get rid of it as quickly as he can. Not something I would have thought Ronny Deila would like in a player. He looks a big, strong lad though and he put in two or three really good tackles there. Ridiculous he got booked for that challenge on Ribery, that was a great tackle.

If he can improve his ability on the ball he could be a very good signing.

What games? Just curious by the way as I find it hard to believe that alot on here have really seen that much of him.

Hopefully lessons from last summer being learnt.

We were in a transition period last summer also tho which didn't help.

Can only judge on what I've seen (which is very little). He seems the complete opposite to Denayer and van Dijk, or indeed any of our central defenders since big Majstorovic. Tall, no nonsense defender but prone to mistakes and not good with the ball at his feet. A defender in his mould could be needed in the CL, a sort of McManus/Caldwell/Balde type CB. I don't think he's as good but I'm sure our coaching staff will do their very best to improve certain aspects of his game.

Very solid signing , not bad for around a million quid.

Excellent news if true. Bed him in beside VVD on pre-season. Keeping VVD now and we will be in a great position. I wouldnt saw naw to Wilson and the Dutch LB aswell. Glad to see us learning from past mistakes.

I'm not bothered that he's not what we're used to at centre half in regards to his ability with the ball at his feet. As long as he keeps it simple and resists hitting it long he'll be OK.

I like ball playing defenders but its important he can defend first and foremost.

If this goes through it's good news to top off what has been a frankly hilarious day. Nice to see us starting transfer business early.

good signing he will need to get a few games under his belt to get his sharpness back but he will do well for us.
