Hope he signs an extension to his current contract.

 

Would be great but I think what happened during the summer and AEK demonstrated his intentions clearly.

His return to form and impressive commitment could (cynical I know) very well be a shop window display because January is approaching fast if he wants the big pay cheque of the EPL every week.

On the other hand, I was very impressed when Rogic signed a new deal before the WC because I was almost resigned to him using it to see if any mega rich suitors approached. And it's quite normal for players to use the January window for financial reasons so I had no issue with Tam. The fact he signed before leaving showed he genuinely loves the club more than the money offered elsewhere.

Of course, I'm not saying he's on £1 grand a week, he'll be getting a very healthy pay cheque from us and so he should, it's what we have to do if we want to qualify for the UCL which is getting tougher all the time.
Only way Dedryk would stay is if he didn't get a mega deal in January or we offered him more than anyone else which is highly unlikely.

I don't know why we have to risk players running down their contracts, the amount of money we're going to lose is significant.

Said it a million times but 2 years should be when the decisions are made.

Also, as it proved with Boyata, it also creates an instability in the team. Moussa did not help at all, at least he did leave at the 2 year mark because although it woul've been great to see him stay another season I have no doubt he would've just hung out for a massive signing on fee somewhere and also the weekly slip.
